ALDI is offering free bottles of its bestselling Pierre Jaurant Bordeaux to three lucky couples on their wedding day – and it tastes just like David Beckham’s favorite.

The competition comes as Posh & Becks celebrates 25 years in July, so the supermarket is offering brides-to-be up to 60 bottles of red for their wedding.

The selection includes the Pierre Jaurant supermarket Bordeauxwhich wine expert Sam Caporn says “allows you to sample” the Beckhams’ favorite Château Mouton Rothschild, which retails for £3,600 a bottle.

Victoria and David, who married in Ireland in 1999, are fans of the premium drink, which even appeared on the family’s Christmas dinner table last year.

Now, lucky couples planning their big day can treat their guests to a drop of decadence, Beckham-style, with Aldi’s popular Bordeaux – a blend of 85% Merlot and 15% Cabernet Sauvignon.

Sam Caporn explains the similarity between the wines and why they are perfect for weddings:

“Aldi’s wine and Château Mouton Rothschild are from the same region and made from the same blend of grape varieties: Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot.

“Produces black and purple fruit flavors with fine tannins and spicy notes from French oak.

“They make incredibly good wedding wines, whether served alongside red meat or a summer barbecue.”

O News it will be well received by those planning upcoming nuptials; Recent research shows that despite the cost of living crisis, the average wedding now costs £20,775.

It is the first time the figure has exceeded £20,000.

When is the best time to shop at Aldi?

WHEN it comes to shopping at Aldi, the best time to do so depends on what you want to buy.

For reduced items – when stores open

Items with red stickers are rare across Aldi’s 830 UK stores, but the supermarket says none of its food goes to waste, so there are some to be found – if you’re quick.

A spokesperson for the supermarket said: “All items are reduced to 50 per cent of the recommended retail price before stores open at their best time or best before date.”

This means you’ll have a better chance of finding reduced-price foods if you go to stores as soon as they open.

Opening hours vary depending on the store, but most open from 7am or 8am. You can find the hours of your nearest store using the supermarket online store finder tool.

For special purchases – Thursdays and Sundays

Special Buys are Aldi’s weekly collection of items that it doesn’t normally sell, which can range from pizza ovens to power tools.

New stock arrives in stores every Thursday and Sunday, so naturally these are the best days to visit for the best one-off specials.

For an even better chance of bagging the best items, head to your local store during opening hours.

However, you don’t need to go to stores to buy a Specialbuy.

They are also on sale online, usually at midnight on Thursday and Sunday, and you can order them up to a week in advance.

As long as you spend at least £25, items will be delivered free of charge.

Remember: once they’re gone, they’re gone, so if there’s something you really want, visit asap
