A MAN has revealed he spotted a bargain at his local Co-op so cleared the shelves.
The savvy shopper was overjoyed as he browsed the freezer aisles at the Co-op when he noticed the classic Cornetto ice creams had been reduced.
Thrilled by his discoveries, Harry Girling stocked up on cheap treats and took to social media to show them off to others, leaving many completely stunned.
Posting in Yellow Sticker Tips, Tricks and Shoppinga private Facebook group with 195,900 members, Harry shared a Photograph from the Co-op’s freezer, next to a photo of her shopping basket, overflowing with reduced finds.
Alongside the post, Harry confirmed that he had indeed picked up the lot, writing: “All seven boxes left.”
As a result of his huge achievement, he smiled: “Summer is resolved!”
It’s no surprise that Harry was very happy with his purchase, as a six-pack of Cornetto ice creams cost £3.50 each, but has since been reduced to just 88p per pack – yes, you heard that correctly.
Harry’s purchase should have cost him a jaw-dropping £24.50, but thanks to a saving of £2.62 per pack, he only spent £6.16 in total.
As a result, the ice cream fan saved an impressive £18.34 in total.
Harry’s post was shared just 11 hours ago, but it clearly left many speechless as it quickly racked up 253 likes and 72 comments.
But social media users were left completely divided by Harry’s post.
While some confessed that they had also emptied the shelves, others accused him of being “greedy”.
One person said: “Right place at the right time.
“I would have taken everything too.”
How dare you Harry, and the other people!

Another added: “Bargain!! The way my kids eat ice cream, I would have had a lot of it too. Especially with the six-week vacation coming up.”
A third commented: “He’s not greedy, he’s very lucky.”
In my defense, I started with eight and gave my partner a box.

However, at the same time, another person stated: “I could never monopolize like that.”
Another rapped: “Greedy g**.”
When do supermarkets launch yellow sticker bargains?

The length of time supermarkets reduce their products varies between stores.
Here’s a rough supermarket-by-supermarket guide:
Aldi
Aldi uses a red sticker to show reductions on fresh produce such as bread, meat, fruit and vegetables.
This is when they reach the last day of validity.
Items with red stickers are most commonly found at opening and closing times.
IN
Reduction times may vary from store to store, but are most likely to occur close to closing time.
Asda
Asda said Which? that the yellow stickers are applied twice a day – morning and evening.
Cooperative
The Co-op told The Sun that its reduced clearance prices usually apply around four hours before the store closes.
Lidl
Lidl has a similar procedure to Asda and Aldi with twice-daily reductions.
However, individual stores may choose to reduce prices throughout the day.
Morrison
Online shoppers said Morrisons has the best bargains first thing in the morning.
However, the store said Which? There are no specific times for yellow sticker price reductions.
Sainsbury’s
Sainsbury’s told The Sun that it is at the discretion of the store manager to offer discounts.
However, shoppers have reported that the best deals are in the evening from 6pm onwards.
Tesco
Tesco said there is no specific time for the reduction, but again, most people have found prices to be reduced from 6pm.
Waitrose
As with most other stores, Waitrose shoppers said the best reductions are found before closing.
However, the store stated that there is no specific time for the yellow stickers to be applied.
While someone else posted: “How dare you Harry, and the other people!!!
“That’s just not fair.”
To this, Harry later responded and confirmed: “In my defense, I started with eight and gave my partner a box.”
