Posting in Feed your family for around £20 a weeka public Facebook group with 678,000 followers, Lorna shared photos of her shopping at Morrisons.

Alongside the post, she said: “I landed this consignment at Morrisons on Friday.”

She managed to buy heavily discounted vegetable samosas, Cornish sweets, 700g of Cajun chicken breast and a quiche.

She also packed a loaf of plain bread, iceberg lettuce, two packets of fish, celery sticks and 80g of beef.

The Hery grocery store was supposed to cost more than £30, but yellow sticker discounts took the total to just £9.75.

But Lorna had one complaint about her lucky food store – the competition to snap up the sale items.

She said: “I ended up in a different Morrisons to the one I usually go to and what a different experience waiting for the yellow stickers to be reduced.

“The one I usually go to is very civilized, but not so much this one!

“People hovering over people, slowing things down and pushing. It was a little crazy. I think I’ll just stick with normal from now on!”

His achievement left social media users speechless, with many taking to the comments section.

I work in a supermarket and the worst part of it all are the yellow sticker shoppers – they fight me for discounted food

“You got a good result, Lorna,” insisted one.

“Wow. Great discounts,” said a second.

A third wrote: “This is how our Morrisons like vultures.”

A fourth confessed: “Awww, I’m jealous. You’ve got to get it while you can, especially if it freezes. I seem to miss out on all the good bargains in Morrisons. I think it’s time.”

Meanwhile, a fifth commented: “They do this in my local Morrisons, like vultures waiting to pounce. Always the same people too, horrible. Sorry for the staff having them hovering over them!”

How to Save Money at Your Food Store

THERE ARE lots of ways to save on your groceries.

You can look for yellow or red stickers on products that show when they have been reduced.

If the food is fresh, you will have to eat it quickly or freeze it for another time.

Making a list should also save you money, as you’ll be less likely to make hasty purchases when you get to the grocery store.

Buying your own brand can also be an easy way to save hundreds of pounds a year on your food bills.

This means abandoning “better” or “luxury” products and instead opting for “premier” or value-type lines.

Many supermarkets run unstable vegetable and fruit schemes where you can get cheap prices if they are misshapen or imperfect.

For example, Lidl runs its Waste Not program, offering 5kg boxes of fruit and veg for just £1.50.

If you’re on a low income and are a parent, you could get up to £442 a year in Healthy Start vouchers to use at the supermarket too.

Additionally, many municipalities offer grocery vouchers as part of the Family Support Fund

Lorna has become known as a budget shopper over the years.

She is the author of Feed your family for £20 a week – in a hurry recipe book, where she shares her secrets for preparing meals for a family of four for less than £3 a day – as well as running her popular Facebook page.

After being unable to work due to a back injury, Lorna managed to reduce her food bill from £100 a week to just £20.

The busy mother of three is now known for her money-saving, food shopping and bargain-hunting tips, which she shared in her debut book.

There are more than 100 economical recipes and, best of all, meals can be prepared in less than 20 minutes.
