The hidden gem is run by a German family who brought their home country’s love of fairy tales to Scotland in 2013.

And it’s even been compared to a scene straight out of a Disney movie, thanks to its magical cabins.

Situated along the A87 towards Skye, just around the corner from Eilean Donan Castle, Thomas Gottwald has used his carpentry skills to create the quirky food and drink pitstop.

Thomas runs the on-site gin distillery – Fairytale Gin – while stepdaughter Jolene Kohne heads up the pizzeria and wife Manuela Kohne-Gottwald runs the bakery.

And the bakery has been a huge hit with foodies on social media after they came across it while touring the NC500.

One said: “A little hidden gem on the NC500. 10/10 biscuits and a nice cup of tea.”

A second wrote: “We come to Scotland every year on holiday and always visit.”

A third echoed: “I think it’s impossible not to stop here on every trip.”

A fourth added: “It’s like something out of a Disney movie and with so much delicious food to choose from.”

“The Nutella croissants are a must,” said a fifth.

And a sixth wrote: “The best cookies I’ve ever had.”

Thomas previously revealed the vision behind the family’s “fairytale-themed” ad.

He told the Press and Newspaper: “Everyone loves it because it’s unique and, as far as we know, it’s the only place in Britain that has this type of building.

“Their idea is German and I was raised on fairy tales like the Brothers Grimm, Hansel and Gretel and Snow White.

“We started with the fairytale theme and some pizza to go, which is run by my daughter Jolene and then we added the distillery which is run by me.

“It’s just the three of us who manage the entire site. I would say that locally we are already quite well known.”
