In the true spirit of British football culture, it’s always good to have a drink to mark big games.

Fortunately for those hosting a party at home, preparing cocktails doesn’t have to be an expensive job.

And that’s thanks to Aldi.

The budget supermarket has launched a range of branded drinks for this weekend only.

At just £14.99 for a large bottle, they’re cheaper than any other supermarket.

However, those hoping to snag a bargain will need to be quick.

The bottles are being sold as a Specialbuy deal – so when they’re gone, they’re gone.

Gordon’s London Dry Gin, Smirnoff, Captain Morgan Original Spiced Gold Rum and Antica Sambuca hit the center aisle today.

Preparing a G&T or a martini in the comfort of your own home has never been cheaper.

Maybe save Sambuca’s moves for after the game – no one wants to pass out before kickoff.

How to Save Calories When Drinking Alcohol

The Three Lions’ semi-final victory over the Netherlands was watched by a peak audience of 21.6 million on ITV on Wednesday night.

The 2-1 victory was the most watched television program in 19 months.

This is the biggest spike in viewership on a single channel since December 2022, when the country watched England’s quarter-final exit on ITV from the FIFA World Cup.

Broadcasters are expecting more than 30 million viewers to watch Sunday night’s final against Spain, based on figures from England’s Euro 2020 final defeat.

NHS guidelines on alcohol consumption

According to the NHS, regularly drinking more than 14 units of alcohol per week can harm your health.

To keep the health risks of alcohol at a low level if you drink most weeks:

  • men and women are advised not to drink more than 14 units per week regularly
  • spread your consumption over 3 or more days if you regularly drink up to 14 units per week
  • If you want to cut back, try going several days without drinking a week.

If you are pregnant or think you may become pregnant, the safest approach is not to drink alcohol to keep the risks to your baby to a minimum.

There are even hopes of an extra bank holiday to celebrate England’s Euro win, should they bring it home.

Appeals emerged across the country today as Sir Keir Starmer vowed to mark any victory.

Fans dared to dream of a day off as calls grew for a national celebration should the Three Lions make 2024 England’s year.

The new prime minister said he did not want to “jinx” the historic clash, but would not rule out allowing millions of people time off work to bask in the glory.

And an extra day off on Monday calls for post-game cocktails with your Aldi bargains.
