Can you reheat KFC?

It’s good news because yes, you can reheat KFC.

If you notice that you have too much chicken in the bucket, simply place it in a container and store it in the refrigerator.

As long as your takeaway is stored correctly, it’s safe to reheat it the next day.

However, we do not recommend reheating your KFC in the microwave.

This is because the quality of the coating on the chicken will not remain the same – it will become soggy and soft, and the chicken may also become rubbery.

But if you’re at work and only have a microwave, we still have some helpful tips for you.

What is the best way to reheat KFC?

The ideal is to reheat your KFC in the oven or airfryer.

For the oven, place the chicken pieces on a baking sheet covered with aluminum foil.

Rub a little cooking oil over the chicken so that it doesn’t stick to the foil and bake for 15 minutes at a temperature of around 180 degrees Celsius.

If you only have access to the microwave to reheat KFC, place the chicken on a plate covered with kitchen paper and cover the chicken with it as well.

This is to absorb the moisture coming out of the chicken, which means your leftovers won’t be as soggy.

The time it takes to reheat the chicken depends on how many pieces you have.

If you have one piece, it should take one to two minutes.

If you have two pieces, it will take three minutes – keep adding a minute for each extra piece you have.

For the air fryer, place the chicken in a single layer in the basket and cook for four minutes.

At this point, your leftover fried chicken will be hot and crispy.

According to The Spruce Eats, a minimum temperature of 160 degrees Celsius is required.

How many times can you reheat KFC?

KFC should only be heated once.

It’s worth remembering that fast food is sometimes pre-cooked and it’s been a long time since you ordered it.

It is best to reheat KFC only once and within a day of purchase.

Leaving it out at room temperature – or even in the fridge for too long – can lead to bacteria growth, which can result in food poisoning.
