A DARING influencer has shocked social media users after claiming she uses her own faeces as a face mask – with two doctors issuing a stern warning against the extreme skincare method.

Débora Peixoto took to Instagram to share her bizarre beauty routine with her 657,000 followers.

The 31-year-old has already gone viral for smothering menstrual blood on her cheeks to get “glowing skin”.

Now, she’s revealed her latest skincare “hack” in a video that has more than 217,000 views.

“I saw research about this and decided to try it,” Peixoto told What is the jelly.

“It can prevent aging. It’s the craziest thing I’ve done in my life.

“But it worked for me and my skin stopped peeling!”

In the video, Peixoto can be seen going to the refrigerator and taking out a small sample container of what appears to be her own poop.

She then ties her hair back with a pink headband before using a small spatula to clean the feces from her cheeks, forehead, chin and nose.

Débora then rubs the poop into her skin with her fingers to create a facial mask.

The Brazilian uses a clothespin to close her nose, which she says “helps with the smell”, and lets the substance act for ten minutes before washing it off.

At the end of the video, Débora looks at the camera to show off her “glowing” skin.

The post has gained more than 1,900 likes, as well as hundreds of comments to date.

“There are things that even when I see it, I don’t believe it,” said a shocked commenter.

“People are getting really radical on the Internet. This is worrying,” added another.

“Humans are so weird,” said one viewer.

“Disgusting AF. I wouldn’t even do that,” agreed another.

“This is diabolical… going too far,” said a third.

What the doctor says

Dr Sophie Momen, consultant dermatologist at the Cadogan Clinic in London, warned against the hack.

“Of all the skincare ‘trends,’ this is one of the weirdest I’ve come across,” she said.

“There is absolutely no scientific benefit to the skin of using feces as a face mask.

“In reality, this could bring more problems than benefits.

“Feces are full of bacteria and viruses, putting you and others at risk of illness, food poisoning and infections.

“Additionally, when feces come into contact with the skin, they can irritate the skin, causing redness and discomfort.”

His colleague, Dr. Tunc Tiryaki, consultant plastic surgeon and chair of ISAPS humanitarian programs, also shared his insights.

“Using your own feces as a facial cleanser or face mask is highly inadvisable due to several health and hygiene concerns,” he said.

“Feces contain a multitude of bacteria, viruses and parasites, including E. coli, salmonella and helminths, which can cause serious infections and illnesses.

“Applying feces to your face can introduce these pathogens into your body through small cuts, abrasions or mucous membranes, causing serious skin infections or systemic illnesses.

”Feces also contain waste and toxins that the body has expelled.

“These substances are harmful and can cause inflammation, irritation and allergic reactions to the skin.”

Instead, the surgeon advises using modern face masks.

“They are specifically formulated to cleanse, hydrate and protect the skin while maintaining its natural balance,” he said.

“Using these scientifically developed products is a much safer and more effective method of maintaining skin health and hygiene.”
