Editor Drink wine and save puppies shared how they’re saving their strands.

“Stop using aerosol dry shampoo has made a huge difference in my hair!” they said.

And that wasn’t the only trick they had up their sleeve for strengthening hair.

“Luckily I have light hair, so now I just use baby powder applied with a makeup brush and rub it in,” they said.

They were big fans of one particular discovery – Lush Dry Shampoo.

They shared how the product also had a pleasant smelling advantage.

You can simply apply the dry shampoo in the same way as the aerosol version – there are also options for darker colored hair.

There was a big reason they had to find an alternative to aerosol.

“I discovered that the aerosol was excessively drying my hair and damaging it a lot,” they said.

Their only warning was not to overuse dry shampoo.

If you want to try the trick yourself, Lush No-Dry Dry Shampoo it sells for $20.

The rest of the routine included doing two washes with clarifying shampoo to “cleanse my scalp properly!”

They also trusted another secret to save their hair.

“Also, applying oil to my hair at night has helped me. I use a tea tree oil/argan oil treatment that I found on Amazon,” they said.

“My hair is more oily so I was worried it would make my hair worse, but it just moisturizes it well,” they added.

“If your hair is oily, don’t dry it out and don’t be afraid to use moisturizing products!”

Another Redditor also shared their own hair struggles.

“It took me longer than I care to admit — literal years — to realize that the reason my hair kept breaking on the top of my head was due to excessive dry shampoo,” they said.

“This was causing it to completely dry out and break apart. It’s so obvious to me now,” they continued.

One user had her own DIY recipe to save her dry hair.

“I made my own dry shampoo and added cocoa powder to make it brown and blend into my hair better. I bet it would work well with baby powder. I’ll try that someday,” they said.

The original poster explained how they sometimes incorporate arrowroot powder into their dry shampoo mix.

Yet another was a big fan of a product.

“So smart! The baby powder definitely helps absorb the oil!” said the Redditor.
