SHOPPERS were left choking after a Vinted salesman tried to flog USED soap.

The defaced orange ball, which appears wet, was wrapped in paper and described as a “discontinued” product from the cosmetics store.

People gasped that it “looks like a brain” and visibly vomited at the ugly hygiene product.

The seller was exposed in the Facebook group “I Found It on Vinted,” which is dedicated to sharing strange listings on the second-hand site.

It was posted as: “Lush has discontinued orangutan soap.”

The seller was flogging it for £4.62 including “buyer protection”.

They also listed the product as “new with tags.”

People were quick to point out that the soap looked far from new.

“It looks like a brain,” said one.

“Not that I’ve ever seen one or possibly have one.”

“Was it made by an orangutan?” a second asked.

Lush’s Orangutan soap was launched in November 2017 as a limited edition.

According to Vinted guidelines, it is “strictly prohibited to sell cosmetic items that have been used or tried on, even once or are expired.”

Sellers can get around this by listing items as “new with tags” despite their photos showing obvious signs of use.

“The sale of any cosmetic products and electronic pet grooming items is strictly prohibited,” the Vinted guidelines add.

“The sale of cosmetic products whose sale is permitted only for professional use, which are qualified as medicines or which contain biocidal ingredients is strictly prohibited.”

There are a whopping 29,000 Lush cosmetic items listed on Vinted, as of August 2024.

The most popular items are limited edition Christmas stock – from Snow Fairy and Sticky Date scented products to Ginger Milk shower gel and even gift sets.
