A self-proclaimed burrito enthusiast has revealed the trick she uses to keep her lipstick in place all day.
She shared tips for getting your lips in the best condition possible before applying products.
The beauty fan shared her lipstick tutorial in a post on Reddit’s Makeup Addiction forum, which has nearly 6 million members.
SIMPLE SOLUTION
She said that to make your lipstick last longer, it’s important to exfoliate and moisturize your lips to leave them in the “best condition.”
“For the lipstick application process, I have a system that seems a little time consuming, but it’s totally worth it,” she said, writing under the handle Lekiksters.
“After exfoliating the night before, one of the first things I do in the morning is apply a layer of Vaseline to my lips.
“I let this sink in while I do the rest of my face, then remove the excess after everything is done.”
The Redditor said she loves using MAC lip primer as the first step in applying lipstick.
She then uses a clear liner from Sephora on the outside of her lips to keep the color from bleeding onto her skin.
She said an extra step may be necessary when trying to achieve a bold, long-lasting look.

“Depending on the color, I put on eyeliner and a thin layer of lipstick,” she said.
“I wipe it off with a tissue and reapply the lipstick, repeating as many times as necessary depending on how opaque I want the color to be.
“If I follow these steps, my lipstick lasts all day.”
However, she said she may need to reapply lipstick to the corners of her mouth if she drinks alcohol.
“Lipstick composition is important, of course, but I use my routine as a safety precaution,” she said.
“Since I have issues with fading and bleeding depending on the lipstick formula, I like to cover all my bases.”
BEAUTY SHOPPING
Many people upvoted the post and thanked her for sharing the makeup trick.
The Sephora Collection Beauty Amplifier Universal Lip Liner is currently not available for purchase online.
A two-pack of Vaseline is $2.49 and MAC Prep + Prime Lip Primer is $25 at Target.
Customers gave the primer a rating of 4.5 stars out of 5 possible and wrote rave reviews.
“This is a wonderful product that is non-greasy, goes on smooth and sheer and is a must before applying any color to your lips as it controls and doesn’t allow any bleed through on your lip color,” said one person.
Another shopper said she gets “so many compliments” on her lips whenever she uses the primer, while a third raved about getting “little to no transfer” on her cup.
“I’ve been using this primer for years,” said a fourth.
“Just apply it first while you do the rest of your makeup, wait about 5 minutes for it to dry.
“Your lipstick will feel so smooth and make it last for hours.”
