A MAKEUP fan shared a common mistake people make when buying flawless beauty products.
While she couldn’t speak for everyone, she said she witnessed many using the makeup product incorrectly.
Maddie (@maddygam) shared the beauty tip in a viral TikTok video.
“We’ve been using Elf Halo Glow wrong this whole time,” she said.
She explained that she later realized that the shine enhancer didn’t live up to the hype for her.
“This whole time, I was wondering why I hated it,” she said.

She revealed that she was using the $14 Elf Halo Glow as if it were a foundation, applying directly to the skin.
The correct technique, however, is to mix the product into a foundation.
To demonstrate the difference the method made, she demonstrated it on half of her face.
On one side, she applied her foundation with Halo Glow mixed in.

She blended her base makeup with a sponge, shocked and pleased with the “super shiny” look.
The other side, with just the Halo Glow, was dark in comparison.
Additionally, she noticed that Halo Glow alone emphasized the texture of her skin.
“This side is showing all my spots,” she said.
Viewers shared their various application methods with Elf Halo Glow.
“I use it first and then I put on my foundation and it looks really good,” said one commenter.

“I use it with a tinted moisturizer and it looks beautiful,” said another.
“I mix mine with mineral sunscreen as a primer and it leaves my makeup flawless,” said a third.
One viewer even incorporated the product into her skincare as a natural radiance booster.
“I mix it with moisturizer before applying,” she said.
She revealed that adding Halo Glow helped her moisturizer feel less wet.
Some knew, explaining that the cult-favorite shade was a joke for a luxury brand.
“Yes, it’s the stupid Charlotte Tilbury Flawless Filter and that should be substantiated too,” said one commenter.
Some were shocked to stumble upon the makeup reveal.
“OMG this is why whenever I use Halo Glow alone it makes all my blemishes and acne scars appear more,” said one commenter.
“I realized this after the first time I used it. I looked like Edward from Twilight”, joked another.
