A PRO manicurist shared an affordable drugstore buy that helps strengthen your nails.
She urged nail fans to stop making a common mistake that makes nails look thinner.
Chillhouse manicurist Molly Romah shared her tips and tricks for at-home manicures with The US Sun.
For those who are just starting to do their own nails, she recommended purchasing affordable materials rather than spending a lot.
The most important thing, she added, is to find products that you are constantly looking for.
“Not every product works for everyone. But if you find one that works for you, use it,” she said.
Romah added that you might be shocked at what you find at your local pharmacy.
One of her holy grails, she revealed, is the Sally Hansen Nail Hardener for $3.
“There is a lot of nail care in pharmacies. I use Sally Hansen Nail Harder or Nail Strengthener when I don’t use gel,” she said.
“This helps protect my natural nails from breaking. And if I want to last longer, I will CND Shellac Gel. It’s easy to remove and lasts a long time.”

Romah emphasized the importance of preparing your nails before applying any primer or nail polish.
To prevent breakage and ensure nail health, she advised beauty fans to get into the habit of using cuticle oil.
“I use Chillhouse’s In recovery on my cuticles and fingers if I use gel,” she said.
“If I have regular nail polish, I use it before applying nail polish. I wash my hands and then use wet wipes to clean my nails before applying nail polish.
“Apply cuticle oil frequently to cuticles to moisturize.”
The manicurist even makes a point of taking cuticle oil wherever you are.

“Carry On the Mend with you. It’s small and convenient and includes a nail file. The oil brush brush is easy to apply,” she said.
Beginners, she added, would do well to be wary of overzealous techniques that can damage nails, such as cutting too much cuticles and over-buffing.
“The nail becomes very thin and the cuticles peel,” she said.

A woman has shared her homemade nourishing nail recipe, made with common household items.
She added fresh lemon juice to the oil, soaking her nails in the solution for ten minutes.
