A WOMAN has become the oldest Miss Universe contestant at the age of 60.
The Argentine lawyer continues to turn heads at age 60 and hopes to make history as the oldest Miss Universe contestant.
Alejandra Rodriquez was crowned Miss Universe Buenos Aires on Wednesday for the right to represent the province in the national competition in May, according to HOLA!
It is the first year that the beauty contest is open to women over 28 years old.
Previously, Miss Universe contestants’ ages were required to be in the strict 18 to 28 range and to be single and childless, but the rules were changed last year.

Alejandra believed she had left the beauty contest a long time ago, but changed her mind when she learned of the new rules.
But the 60-year-old still turns heads and credits her lifestyle for her amazing appearance, saying she sticks to her diet and stays active.
She revealed the simple dietary change she makes to maintain her killer body.
“The basics are to have a healthy life, eat well, do physical activity,” she told the Argentinean El Trece television network. “Normal care, nothing too extraordinary and a little genetics.”
The 60-year-old says she follows a healthy eating diet and intermittent fasting.
“What I try to do is intermittent fasting, I think it helps a lot. Then I try to eat organic foods, lots of fruit, lots of vegetables and use good creams.”
Intermittent fasting is an eating pattern in which you alternate between periods of eating and fasting says Health line.
It doesn’t say anything about what foods to eat, but rather when you should eat them.
She also exercises three times a week, mainly walking and running: “I’m not extreme.
The newly crowned Miss Buenos Aires became a journalist after finishing high school before studying law and becoming a hospital legal consultant, she says.
Alejandra was chosen to represent the country in the global competition among a group of 35 competitors.
“We were 35 participants of all ages, from 18 to 73 years old he was the oldest. There was no age category,” Rodriguez said.
Her eyes are now set on the Miss Argentina pageant, which begins on May 25 in Buenos Aires.
“I am thrilled to represent this new paradigm in beauty pageants because we are ushering in a new stage in which women are not just about physical beauty, but another set of values.
“I’m the first of this generation to start with this,” said Rodriguez, according to HOLA!
