The now-deleted Reddit user posted a photo of herself on Curly hair forum along with the hacks that gave her “optimal” growth.

She said wearing her hair in protective styles has been the “best thing.”

Instead of dying and straightening frequently, she has been wearing wigs for almost four years.

The beauty enthusiast revealed that she is also using an at-home treatment to improve her hair.

“Crece Pelo… one of the BEST conditioners I’ve used in my life,” she said.

“I leave it in my hair for about an hour with a plastic bag.

“It’s magic in a jar. But when I don’t have that, I simply make my own DIY conditioner

“This might be gross, but… I realized that I have naturally dry hair, so with that said, I used the LEAST amount of shampoo and a lot more conditioner.

Tips for styling thinning hair

Rachael E.D Sey is a certified trichologist with nearly 15,000 Instagram followers.

She revealed to The US Sun how to protect her hair from future loss.

Hairstyles

Sey recommended opting for a top knot or loose braided ponytail instead of styles that tighten the strands.

She also advised limiting the use of heat tools, such as a hairdryer or straightener.

Those with afro hair should avoid braids or consider larger braids.

DIY treatments

The trichologist said hair should be washed regularly and trimmed every six weeks.

She recommended using hair oils to help “improve circulation and scalp follicles.”

“You are stunning and I am so enchanted by your curls that I also need to look for that Crece for my son, he has similar curls,” said another.

“You and your hair are beautiful!” a third commented. “The routine you’re doing is definitely working because it looks great!”

The 12-ounce BOE Crece Pelo Shampoo + Rinse combo set is $9.99 at Amazon.

According to the manufacturer, it promotes hair growth, adds shine and controls frizz.

Satisfied customers gave the product a 4.5-star rating.

One reviewer said it stopped hair loss, while another praised its scent.

The best results are obtained by applying the conditioner to “freshly washed” wet hair, says the Dominican Hair Alliance.

It should be massaged into the scalp and root area before being worked into the strands, section by section.

Crece Pelo is suitable for hair with high to medium porosity.
