Editor Spoiled and mistreated shared the beauty recommendation in a post.

They explained that most people don’t know what they have until it’s gone, including the makeup.

After decades of experimenting with cosmetics, the key trick is to stock up on your favorites.

“I’m almost 70 years old and I’m going to tell you this because I’ve been dealing with cosmetics for many years,” they wrote.

“You could almost take this to the bank. Whenever you find a makeup brand that you like, be it foundation, blush, eyeshadow, [or] mascara will eventually be discontinued.”

They explained that the cycle repeated itself over and over and they learned to deal with disappointment.

“All my life I’ve been in love with a product and then BAM, they don’t make it anymore,” they said.

“You go looking for something else that works. No matter how good the product is or even if it is high quality, sooner or later things will change.”

She warned beauty fans to stock up on items they couldn’t live without.

“I just wish we had advance knowledge to stock up on it before it runs out,” she said.

I’m a 58-year-old former model and makeup artist – my little ‘tree trunk’ trick will make your eyes look wider

“My sister has been a makeup artist since the 80s and we still talk about [the] makeup that we loved and is now gone. Sucks.”

Fans agreed that her advice applied to almost every product.

“This is true of any of our personal holy grails,” said one commenter.

“Blue jeans that fit your every curve? Gone. The most comfortable, supportive bra you’ve ever worn? Gone. Favorite moisturizer? Redesigned and now irritating. It’s the worst!”

Beauty fans mourned the loss of their favorite products and clothes.

“I’m mourning my jeans right now. They stopped selling this cut and my pair is getting worn out,” said one of them.

“I would have gotten a few extra pairs if I had known or thought about it.”

The original poster explained that they spent a lot of time looking for dupes, especially for their favorite perfumes that are no longer being made.

“I searched and searched for dupes as I make body products myself and buy a lot of dupes and make the entire line of soaps, shower gels, lotions, body sprays and perfumes,” they wrote.

Unfortunately, they were never able to find a model for one of their favorites, Gio by Giorgio Armani.

“I’ve never met an idiot Gio. They do [Acqua Di Gio] but not Gio. I save a lot of money doing this myself while buying Gucci Dupes, Chanel, Jimmy Choo, [Yves Saint Laurent]Kenneth Cole, etc”, they explained.
