A beauty brand is offering an affordable product to its designer counterpart.
Commenting under a publishan unidentified Reddit user revealed that the makeup item they swear by is almost identical to a high-end alternative.
Responding to the original poster’s question about dupe products, the social media user recommended $5.97 L’Oreal Glossy Lip Stainavailable on Amazon.
The Redditor explained that “302 Be Oustanding [shade] it’s much better than the YSL Water Stain in 617 Dive in The Nude.
Although Water Stain by Yves Saint Laurent has been discontinued, the brand offers a similar item.
The designer Vinyl cream lip paint it’s currently available for $45 at Sephora.
In his comment, the Reddit user detailed the reasons why he prefers the L’Oreal option.
“YSL has a strong, bitter taste and smells like strong cologne,” they explained.
“L’Oreal has a slightly sweet smell and doesn’t taste like anything.”

The social media user described the two colors as identical.
According to the Redditor, there might be a reason behind the similar tones.
“They are also owned by the same company,” they said.
They explained that they own both products and have a clear favorite.
“I’ve had both and will never buy YSL again,” they told other Reddit users.
