Even if you only have a mild interest in beauty, you’ve probably seen at least one of Kate’s viral videos before.

Better known as @seumategingerkate On TikTok, this content creator is known for her all-natural beauty secrets and somewhat sweary explanations.

Her latest video was no different, with the influencer claiming her DIY fake tan transformed her from pale and interesting to a “warm, tanned redhead.”

Putting her knowledge to the test, she decided to create the recipe from scratch and shared with her fans how easy it was to make.

In fact, you’ll only need two tea bags to get started.

Adding them to half a mug of boiling water, the beauty guru let them brew for a few minutes and showed her fans how dark the tea was.

Once done, the influencer added two tablespoons of henna powder and mixed until it reached a slightly liquid consistency.

However, she used a very specific version of the vegetable dye.

“This is the red I use in my hair,” she explained, adding, “That’s what gave me the idea for fake tan.”

After letting the mixture cool, Kate removed the tea bags and rummaged through the pantry for one more item: a large spoonful of melted coconut. oil.

To ensure she got a smooth consistency, the content creator gave the DIY fake tan a quick swipe with her blender.

If you don’t have one of these at home, don’t despair, as we’re sure a regular mixture would also work well for this beauty trick.

Then the moment of truth arrived and it was time to test the homemade product.

As you would with a regular fake tan, the influencer wore a plain tank top and gloves to keep the fake tan from getting on everything.

Spreading a generous amount onto her face and chest, Kate looked more like she had tangoed after applying the homemade mixture.

The influencer shared her surprising results just half an hour later

However, she was determined to trust the process.

Leaving it on for half an hour, she told fans: “I’m just going to take it down past the cleavage, but obviously if it works I’m going to put it everywhere.”

Despite her initial concerns, her skin glowed after she washed off her DIY tan.

“I can’t believe this worked,” she gushed, adding, “I outdid myself…it’s not often you see a hot, tanned ginger.”

Comparing the paleness of the rest of her body to her face, it was clear that the homemade beauty item was a winner.

And with henna from £9.99 on Amazon, it’ll also save you a small fortune on fake tan.

If only every aspect of our beauty routine were this easy.
