She shared some anti-aging advice anyone can follow with The US Sun.

FPS SITUATION

Alicia, 44, emphasized the importance of protecting your skin from the sun.

“Always wear SPF with broad-spectrum UVA and UVB protection,” she said.

According to the self-confessed former plastic surgery addict, a natural zinc SPF offers instant sun protection when applied compared to chemical SPF, which she says takes time to take effect.

But don’t think that just because you’re indoors — or flying — that you’re protected from the sun.

“Did you know that there are still UVA rays penetrating through airplane windows, which can cause skin aging?” she said.

“Apply your sunscreen before getting on the plane!”

MOISTURE MAGIC

Aging skin is dry skin, Alicia argued, so “it’s about getting enough moisture into the skin and body to plump it up.”

That’s exactly why argan oil is scientifically proven to reduce fine lines and wrinkles—and it’s the main ingredient in many of its brand’s products.

O Douvall’s Beauty First Cold-Pressed Organic Argan Oil$46, it’s a best seller and available at Walmart.

“It’s packed with skin-strengthening fatty acids,” said the founder.

Many beauty experts already share how water is great for the skin, but the model also said that the high water content in fruits and vegetables also helps the skin.

Some examples include watermelon, cucumber, grapefruit, oranges, lettuce and celery.

“Hydration is essential to maintain skin elasticity,” added Alicia.

LESS IS MORE

There’s a lot to be said for an anti-inflammatory diet, but Alicia said anti-inflammatory skin care is important, too.

“The fewer chemicals you put on your skin, the better,” she added.

This is exactly why she explained that hormone patches work so well because “what we put on our skin goes into our bodies.”

“If you overcomplicate your skin care with chemicals, your body won’t know what to do with them and your cells will have to work hard.”

Alicia has a simple rule when it comes to skin care.

“If you can’t eat it, you generally don’t want to put it on your skin,” she said.

Dermatologist-Approved Anti-Aging Tips

Dermatologist Dr. Brendan Camp shared his dermatologist-approved tips with The US Sun.

  • Stop using tanning beds.
  • Do not use sunscreen to contour your face.
  • Wear driving gloves to protect your hands from the sun. He likes Coolibar Gannett UPF 50+ UV Gloves$15.99 to $39.
  • Exercise, eat a healthy diet and get enough sleep.
  • Do not drink excessively or smoke.

OILS VERSUS CREAMS

“I’m a big believer in using oils instead of creams,” said the star.

She explained that creams contain at least 60% to 85% water, while oils are deeply moisturizing and contain antioxidants, fatty acids, and vitamins.

Oils not only nourish but also protect and repair the skin.

She also said that they protect against free radicals that can accelerate the aging process.

This, in turn, strengthens the skin barrier, retains moisture and resists external stressors.
