According to Health LineHormonal imbalances, nutritional deficiencies and physical trauma are among the many causes of thinning eyebrows.

A doctor can consider the elimination along with other symptoms to choose an appropriate treatment and find out if it is a sign of an underlying health problem.

Roshan Vara is a hair transplant surgeon and co-founder of London’s treatment rooms.

Speaking to The US Sun, he shared advice on how to grow thin eyebrows back and avoid relying on makeup for a complete look.

“It’s something that affects thousands of people every year,” he said.

“There are rarer forms of eyebrow hair loss, but the most common cause is chronic over-plucking over long periods of time.”

HOME REMEDIES

Vara said eating a balanced diet and applying vitamin-infused products can help prevent hair loss.

“The body needs adequate nutrients to support healthy eyebrow growth, so it’s important to eat a diet rich in fish, nuts, seeds and leafy vegetables,” he said.

“There are home remedies, including applying coconut or argan oils, but there is little evidence that this actually stimulates new growth.

“If you notice significant hair loss in your eyebrows, it’s definitely worth seeing a healthcare professional.

“They will be able to help you understand the root cause and suggest medications or other treatments that may help with hair growth.

“This could cover everything from over-the-counter medications like Minoxidil to something like an eyebrow transplant.”

BEAUTIFUL EYEBROWS

“Eyebrow hair grows at different rates for different people,” Vara said.

“The total hair growth cycle usually lasts 3 to 4 months, from the beginning of growth to hair loss.

“It can take 3 to 4 weeks for a plucked eyebrow hair to grow back.”

He said eyebrow transplants can be a solution for people who aren’t seeing the results they want with over-the-counter products.

“Eyebrow transplants are a safe and minimally invasive procedure that involves extracting donor hair follicles from the scalp and delicately transplanting them into small incisions to shape the eyebrows,” he said.

“New hairs grow from the grafts over time, resulting in new, thicker eyebrows.”
