She also shared an anti-caking makeup trick that will leave you with soft, dewy skin.
Azadeh Shirazi shares skin care and wellness tips online as an expert in medical, surgical, and cosmetic dermatology.
She previously spoke with The US Sun about her DIY beauty methods and the women’s item she uses for anti-aging.
Now, she’s revealed some common myths that beauty fans should avoid.
NO DOLL
First, the expert debunked the misconception that any stinging or burning you feel after applying a product is a sign that it is working.
This couldn’t be further from the truth, according to Dr. Shirazi.
She said it actually means your skin is severely irritated by the ingredients.
The second one she addressed had to do with people’s confusion about using SPF.
She explained that many people feel like they don’t need to use sunscreen if their skin doesn’t noticeably burn.

They also think they can skip SPF in the late afternoon.
“UVA rays are present all day and penetrate deeper into the skin than burning UV rays,” said Dr.
They can cause damage to the skin’s DNA, increasing the risk of cancer.
When it comes to maintaining a youthful appearance, excessive sun exposure can also “degrade collagen and cause discoloration.”
LINES AND LESSONS
Dr. Shirazi also shared some makeup tips to look younger.
“To avoid pasty makeup, first spray your skin with thermal spring water or just water and apply a few drops of hyaluronic acid serum,” he advised.
She recommended the Loreal 1.5% Pure Hyaluronic Acid Serum to do the job.
Once you have set your foundation, you can apply your makeup as normal.
Your skin will be more moist, smooth and hydrated thanks to the serum.
How do UV rays damage the skin and cause aging?

The skincare guru also had a method for disguising stubborn dark circles.
“First apply a copper or orange color corrector before applying concealer,” she explained.

She added that you should also avoid using mascara or eyeliner on your lower lash line if you want a brighter undereye.
UNCONVENTIONAL METHODS
Finally, Dr. Shirazi offered some additional beauty tips to help you look your best.
She recommended incorporating Rogaine Minoxidil solution into your regimen three to five times a week to grow your eyebrows.
She also suggested applying some lactic acid cream, or AmLactin, to your lips and covering with petroleum jelly before bed.
“It leaves them soft and smooth in the morning and allows the lipstick to look even better,” she explained.
