A HAIRCARE fan has come to the rescue with her tried and tested tips.
They gave their advice for growing braids long, gaining up to about an extra centimeter in a month.
Editor SpiritualSkully7955 posted about her own struggle with hair loss on the social media platform.
“I’ve been trying to grow my hair for a long time and I can’t get past that point, [the] in the middle of my back,” she wrote.
“What can I do?”
She claimed she tried methods such as using a silk pillowcase and a bonnet, to no avail.

Another Redditor weighed in on her hair woes, giving tried-and-true advice.
“You have to use a hair oil,” they said.
“There’s a lot on the market, but the one that’s really popular is Mielle Rosemary Mint oil.”

“It helped me grow my hair two inches a month,” they said.
“Here’s what you should do: take the longest hair you can reach, pull it through the roots, measure it with the same tape, and try to be as accurate as possible.
“Measure once a month after using a specific oil.
“Give a specific oil that you want to try for two to three months at best to show if it is effective.
“If not, discard it and try an oil with different ingredients. Repeat until you find one that works for your hair.”
The Redditor also added that hair growth isn’t the only thing the oil is good for.
“This oil also helped me with hair loss due to tangling,” they said.
“I would apply it and rub it into my scalp, but I would also apply a little to the rest of my hair and it would magically detangle my hair and brushing it would be so much easier.
“But using a hair oil means you have to tolerate greasy, oily hair.”
