The original post tried the tip before applying makeup and compared it to the $42 Smashbox Photo Finish Primeravailable at Sephora.
“In comparison, they appeared to be exactly the same substance, although the Smashbox version was a bit more mixed,” said the Redditor.
“Presumably [this is] to avoid any inconsistencies in texture, which the Monistat product sometimes presents.”
Despite this difference, the poster praised the beauty hack.

“My makeup looks amazing, there are no more problems with smile lines and my makeup doesn’t come off like it used to.”
“Guys, do a patch test. If the silicone breaks normally, you’ll want to avoid that,” another commenter suggested.
Another person joked about the inverse benefits of the simple beauty trick.
“I have a lot of deluxe samples of the Smashbox primer. So it’s great to know otherwise. I can use Smashbox as a rubbing cream,” they said.
The Reddit user updated the thread after trying the primer as an anti-chafing cream.
“I could have used my Smashbox primer as an anti-chafing cream all summer when my thighs were killing me and anti-chafing creams were nowhere to be found in stores!!!!” they wrote.
