SURPRISINGLY, only 22% of us use SPF daily.
However, 86 per cent of skin cancer cases in the UK are preventable, so apply SPF daily.
Here are three of the best daily sunscreens.
Budget
Garnier Ambre Solaire Ultra Light Sensitive Facial Fluid SPF50+, £12 for 40ml, alone. with: For great SPF that don’t cost a lot, no brand is more trustworthy than Garnier.
It’s the first name that comes out of my mouth when someone asks for a sunscreen recommendation, as the formulas rival the products at more than double the price.
While the packaging isn’t the most glamorous and the formula is simple, it does exactly what you need without being greasy or sticky.
Plus, it’s suitable for the whole family and isn’t very expensive.
Mid range
Naked Sundays CabanaClear Water Gel Serum SPF50, £25 for 30ml, sephora.co.uk: This is the latest SPF to enter my stash and I’m super impressed so far.
The water-based gel serum is completely clear and is also silicone-free, so it won’t pill under makeup, which can often be the case with non-greasy SPF formulas.
It also settles into the skin very quickly thanks to a quick-drying formula – this means I have to use a separate moisturizer on any dry areas, but I’m sure once we get to summer the extra step won’t be necessary.
If you have normal to oily skin, this is definitely worth a try!
Lux
Trinny London See The Light Moisturizer SPF 50+, £45 for 50ml, trinnylondon. with: While I truly believe you don’t need to spend a lot of money to get great beauty products — sometimes spending a little more really works, and this is one of those times.
The formula feels like a light day cream.
If I saw it without the branding, I honestly don’t think I would have guessed it was an SPF.
It goes well under makeup, doesn’t leave me feeling oily or irritate my sensitive eyes.
If you have money, there is no comparison.
Pick of the week
DYSON’s Airwrap and Airstrait multistyler went viral for a reason, but my loyalty lies with the brand’s Supersonic hair dryer.
I’m excited that the brand has launched a new hairdryer this week – Dyson Supersonic Nural, £399.99 – which has all the things I love about the original, plus a scalp-care sensor.
