Hannah Gaboardi is a trichologist and hair growth brand ambassador UKLASH.

Having gained a loyal following with their serum that makes lashes visibly longer and brows fuller, they recently launched a hair growth serum.

Speaking to The US Sun, Gaboardi listed several ingredients that you should look out for when purchasing hair products.

LONG LOCKS

Gaboardi revealed four natural solutions to stimulate growth and improve hair health.

“Biotin, vitamin B7, is known for its role in promoting hair growth and maintaining hair health,” she said.

“It helps strengthen the hair shaft and can help prevent hair breakage and thinning.

“Vitamin E is an antioxidant that helps protect hair and scalp from oxidative stress caused by free radicals.

“It can help nourish hair follicles and promote healthy hair growth.

“Coconut oil has moisturizing and conditioning properties that can help strengthen hair, reduce protein loss and prevent damage.

“It can also soothe the scalp and promote growth.

“Tea tree oil has antibacterial and antifungal properties that can help maintain a healthy scalp and prevent dandruff and scalp infections.

“It can also help unclog hair follicles and stimulate hair growth.”

SCALP SAVIOR

Gaboardi shared two best ingredients to keep your scalp healthy.

“Niacinamide, vitamin B3, can improve overall scalp health by promoting circulation and reducing inflammation,” she said.

“It can help support healthy hair growth and prevent hair loss.

“Argan oil is rich in vitamins, antioxidants and fatty acids that can nourish and moisturize your hair and scalp.

Helps improve hair elasticity, reduce frizz and add shine.”

HAIR HEROES

Gaboardi recommended two other ingredients that can improve overall hair health.

“Panthenol, provitamin B5, is a humectant that attracts moisture to the hair, helping to keep it hydrated and soft,” she said.

“It can also improve hair elasticity and resilience, reducing breakage and split ends.

“Peptides are chains of amino acids that can penetrate the hair shaft and strengthen it from within.

“They can help improve the overall health and appearance of your hair, making it appear thicker and stronger.”

What are the common causes of hair loss?

Hannah Gaboardi is a trichologist and UKLASH Ambassador.

Speaking to The US Sun, she revealed the most common causes of hair loss:

Genetics (androgenetic alopecia): Hereditary hair loss, also known as male or female pattern baldness, is the most common cause of hair loss.

“It usually follows a predictable pattern of hair loss or baldness determined by genetics.

Hormonal changes: Hormonal imbalances due to pregnancy, childbirth, menopause, thyroid disorders, or conditions such as polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) can contribute to hair loss.

“Androgen hormones, such as dihydrotestosterone (DHT), may also play a role in hair loss in men and women.

Medical Conditions: Certain medical conditions can cause hair loss, including alopecia areata (an autoimmune disease that causes patchy hair loss), thyroid disorders, scalp infections (such as ringworm), and chronic illnesses such as lupus or diabetes.

Stress and trauma: Physical or emotional stress, surgery or traumatic events can lead to a type of hair loss called telogen effluvium, where a large number of hairs prematurely enter the resting phase of the hair growth cycle and eventually fall out.

Nutritional deficiencies: Inadequate intake of essential nutrients such as vitamins (especially B vitamins), minerals (such as iron and zinc) and proteins can affect hair health and contribute to hair loss.

Medications and treatments: Certain medications, such as chemotherapy drugs, blood thinners, beta blockers and retinoids, can cause hair loss as a side effect.

“Additionally, treatments such as radiotherapy and some forms of birth control can also lead to hair loss.

Overstyling and aggressive treatments: Excessive use of heat styling tools (such as blow dryers, curling irons, or straighteners), chemical treatments (such as bleaching, perming, or coloring), and tight hairstyles (such as braids or ponytails) can damage the hair shaft and lead to hair breakage and loss.

Age: As we age, the rate of hair growth slows and hair follicles can become thinner, resulting in thinner-looking hair.

“Additionally, aging can affect the health of your scalp and hair follicles.”
