A WAITRESS admitted she was shocked after testing “hair theory” to see which style earned her the most tips.
Allison had heard that several hairstyles are more successful with clients than others, so I thought she’d try it herself – and documented the results in a video on her TikTok page.
She began her experiment on Thursday with braided braids.
Upon returning home after her shift, she revealed that the job earned her £151.19 ($191.30) in tips.
Next up was the bubble ponytail, which she tried on Friday, and this style netted her £127.16 ($160.90).
Allison opted for a braided ponytail – with the tail high on her head – on Saturday, which was the most successful style of the night.
On Saturday, she managed to raise an impressive £174.04 ($220.21).
But Sunday was no more successful as she wore a low ponytail and only managed £64.09 ($81.10).
“Trying out server hairstyle theory to see which one tips me the most!” Allison captioned her video.
People were quick to comment on the clip, with one writing: “Girl listen to me, space buns and red lips.
“It’s always worked for me!”
“Wear a flower in your hair,” suggested another.
“It’s been proven to make you seem friendlier/nicer. I always wore one when serving.”
“I love this idea!” a third praised it.
“And I love the idea of further study by changing your hair so that the days are not variable either!
“All the styles were really cute.
Which hairstyle brought the most tips?

“I knew the low pony would be the least!”
“To get a more accurate data set, you should try doing this every day, like every Friday, to expect common sales days,” another person commented.
“Does anyone else think servers earn more than they let on with these numbers?” another asked.
“You can work a week at McDonald’s and not make what they make on the weekend!”
“My husband actually asked me how a waitress ‘upholstered’ her hair in her ponytail,” someone laughed, adding, “I didn’t know he noticed…”
“The best tips of my life were when I got a pixie cut – it set me apart from the other waiters in the busy bar so people remembered to come back to me,” commented another.
