It didn’t take long for the clip to go viral, racking up an impressive 1.1 million views and hundreds of comments from beauty fans everywhere.

“Like a porcelain doll, absolutely beautiful skin,” praised one.

A second wrote: “Your skin is beautiful! How long have you been using glycolic acid?

Kristina replied: “I only started using it a few months ago!”

A third commented: “You look stunning!”

Meanwhile, a fourth noted: “I couldn’t live without using glycolic acid daily!

I’m 59 and I love younger guys – I have a high sex drive so I need their enthusiasm and energy

“It literally saved my skin, which I’ve had problems with for years.”

Kristina replied: “It really is a miracle!”

Another social media user asked for her glycolic acid routine, to which she reported: “Only at night, 2x a week after cleansing and before moisturizer.

The bargain, which can be purchased from the likes of ASOS or Beauty Bay, has also been flooded with five-star reviews online, with one writing: “Smoothed my skin like never before.”

Another praised: “I really love this product.”

Ideal for toning and brightening the skin, it claims to offer “gentle exfoliation to improve skin’s radiance and visible clarity.”

The worst viral beauty hacks

Rebecca Elsdon has revealed a selection of beauty tricks that should be approached with caution or avoided altogether due to potential risks or a lack of scientific evidence supporting their effectiveness:

DIY Skin Care Recipes: “While some DIY skin care recipes using natural ingredients can be safe and effective, others can do more harm than good,” she said.

“Mixing ingredients without adequate knowledge of their interactions or concentrations can cause skin irritation, allergic reactions or even harm.

Using lemon juice or baking soda as an exfoliant: “Lemon juice and baking soda are often considered natural exfoliants, but they can be very harsh on the skin, disrupting the pH balance and causing irritation or increased sensitivity,” says Elsdon.

Home microneedling: “Microneedling can stimulate collagen production when performed by a trained professional using sterile tools.

“DIY microneedling at home poses a risk of infection, scarring, or damage to the skin barrier if not done correctly.

“It’s important to critically address anti-aging trends or hacks and prioritize science-backed skin care practices.

“Consult a skin care professional before trying new treatments or products, especially if you have sensitive skin or specific skin concerns.”

In another publishKristina responded to a social media user who wrote: “It has to be Botox too – there is no way at 48 your skin is so smooth and wrinkle free.”

She replied, “No filters. No Botox. But I have these good ones.”

Kristina captioned the post: “I’m so lucky to have good skin genes, but I also know that my skin hasn’t always looked as healthy as it does now.

“The face you have at 50 is partly inherited, but mostly earned. I will be posting all my skincare in more videos.”
