Editor Edirain shared a beauty tip that completely transformed their makeup routine.

She revealed in a publish how it’s all thanks to her mother that she has “natural, glowing, dewy skin.”

“My mom taught me a beauty tip when I was struggling to cover up my acne,” she said.

Even with your worst breakouts, your skin looks great.

The key to all of this has to do with the right products, and a cheap purchase is at the heart of it all.

The biggest tip for covering up your skin problems has to do with the exact step-by-step instructions your mother taught you.

First, she applies concealer to define the skin’s base.

She follows up with a lighter concealer on her red, patchy breakouts.

She then blends it with her skin and adds a concealer of the same skin tone as a second layer.

The Redditor admitted that she uses Maybelline Super Stay concealer as an integral part of the process.

“It looks so natural that you don’t even notice it,” she said.

“It’s really a dream!” one Reddit user commented.

Once spread on the skin, she explained that she lightly taps and mixes.

Then she covers her face with a strong spray.

For added coverage, she applies the skin tone corrector again to problem areas.

Sometimes it’s still not covered enough, so she has to take extra measures.

“I take a little powder and tap it into the areas that need more coverage,” she explained.

She sprays herself with setting spray one last time,

Finally, she completes the routine with concealer to match the rest of her.

Once that’s done, she completes the rest of her makeup routine, which includes blush, mascara and everything else she needs.

She shared an additional tip for any “really visible acne spots.”

“I just take an eyebrow pencil and turn it into a little beauty mark,” she suggested.

Step by step

  • Apply primer
  • Add lighter concealer
  • Mix the two on your skin
  • Apply concealer corresponding to your skin tone on top
  • Lightly beat and blend into the skin
  • Mist with setting spray
  • Apply the skin tone concealer again for extra coverage.
  • Additional tip: If it’s still not covered enough, take some powder and dab it on the areas that need more coverage.
  • Add setting spray again
  • Finish with a concealer that matches your skin tone.
