A BEAUTY guru learned how to rejuvenate wrinkled hands from her best friend.

She said that before she routinely used anti-aging tips, her best friend’s hands could be mistaken for her grandmother’s.

She shared her advice after a Redditor complained about her “old” hands.

Writing under @let_me_use_Reddit on the Skincare Addiction subreddit, the beauty enthusiast said that her teenage best friend’s hands used to look older than the rest of her body.

“Like, at 12, her hands felt like they belonged to her Nana,” she said.

“I know exactly what you mean, even if others don’t.

“I say this because, like her, I imagine you’ve been chronically hydrating over the last decade in an attempt to free yourself from it.

“Ironically (and fantastically), her face never followed suit and she looks younger than most of us.

“It was always JUST her hands.

“Everything else about her was literally perfect.

“I wonder if perhaps you are the same and if you know how many women would kill for just their hands to be a cosmetic concern.”

The Redditor shared several skincare tips she learned during their decade-long friendship.

“Applying retinol to my hands,” she said. “Like, full face routine – even her hands.

I combat wrinkled hands with 3 drugstore purchases – it takes a few minutes to let them absorb, I also use it on my décolleté

“Even if your face doesn’t need it. Do a retinol facial hand routine at night.

“Hyaluronic acid in every hand wash. Never jump.”

She added that manual fills are an option if all else fails.

“Yes, unfortunately, it exists,” she said.

“But I have a feeling it was made specifically for people like my former best friend – and maybe you, without ever seeing her hands and knowing if it was similar to what she had.

“I would never recommend this outright, but if you try 1 and 2 and don’t see any improvement but it still really bothers you – that’s what you need to watch out for.”

Many people upvoted the post to show their appreciation for the advice.

Anti-aging tips and ‘superstar’ products

Dr. Anatália Moore is a general practitioner and skin specialist with over 11 years of clinical experience.

She told The US Sun that her goal is to equip patients with the knowledge they need to take control of their skin’s journey.

She said the basics of a beauty routine are the same for all ages – it should include an effective cleanser, moisturizer and SPF.

“Moisturizers are my go-to, even when it comes to products that contain active ingredients,” she said.

“Finding a well-balanced moisturizer that provides the right kind of hydration, replaces natural oils, and seals them literally stabilizes the skin.

“This alone can quickly soften the appearance of fine lines and texture, as these are often worsened by dehydration.

“It also allows the skin to function as it should.

“It can then heal more quickly, which, among many things, can lead to fewer lines and wrinkles, fewer flare-ups of dermatitis and rosacea, and milder, shorter-lasting breakouts.”

  • Adequate sleep
  • Balanced diet
  • Reducing stress

Several commenters stated that they also use retinol, a form of vitamin A, in their hand care routines.

It is not uncommon for the hands to age faster than the rest of the body, as they are the most visible area, according to Dr. Aesthetics.

Experts recommend daily use of sunscreen and vitamin C serum to protect your skin from sun exposure and environmental stressors.

Dermal fillers are considered one of the “most effective” treatments for revitalizing hands with prominent veins, while those with wrinkled skin may benefit from topical retinoids.
