A FORMER makeup professional shared a tip about product formulations.
Her advice helps those on a budget find affordable makeup products for more expensive luxury brands.

“I worked in the makeup industry and traveled to all the major makeup shows,” they said.
After witnessing makeup production firsthand, they reported what they learned.

They added that even celebrity brands, like Kylie Jenner’s Kylie Cosmetics, have applied to their discovery.
“Kylie Jenner and [the] Kardashian’s makeup line is private label from manufacturer ColourPop, so you’re literally buying the same formula for 4 to 5 times as much,” they said.
“The NYX formula is equivalent to Urban Decay,” they added.
The makeup expert shared other drugstore brands they considered dupes for higher-end versions.

“Maybelline is the cheapest brand with quality equivalent to Kiehl’s, Yves Saint Laurent and some other high-end brands,” they said.
Commenters agreed that the drugstore alternatives were just as good as the more expensive versions.
One of them said he would rather put the money to good use elsewhere.
“And the fancy stuff is REALLY expensive now too, $40 for lip gloss?” they asked.
“That’s a restaurant meal!”
