A MAKEUP fan shared two affordable lipstick buys that are the perfect substitute for high-quality products.
Although they found many makeup dupes leave a lot to be desired, they were pleased with the nearly identical drugstore finds.
Editor Clover shared the money-saving products in a viral post.
Most “naive” people, they explained, often don’t measure up to reality.
“I think the problem with idiots is that a lot of them seem based just on color, or even just on one [similarity] on the packaging,” they said.
“Few people go out of their way to look for real dupes in [the] formula, time of use, etc.”
Products that might seem silly are often completely different cosmetics, they noted.
“For example, Mac Face and Body is completely different from Dior Face and Body in finish, coverage and application, but people just say it’s the same thing for a ‘different skin type,’” they said.
Due to their higher standards for the gullible, they explained that they do not actively seek out similar products.
“I don’t normally look for dupes, but if I’m only looking for one type of product, I might be perfectly happy with a cheaper option,” they said.

“Or, if there’s a different shade formula that I know I like, I might want both!”
Although the real idiots arrived from far away, they revealed some that they found.
After trying the $34 Nars Sex Appeal blush, they found the $5 Essence The Blush in the shade Blooming to be an exact dupe in both color and formulation.
“I didn’t know this and I owned Nars first, then I gave Essence to a friend,” they said.
Two dupes from YSL also saved money, with one even beating the more expensive $45 version.
“L’Oreal Rouge Signature is a naive formula for YSL Tatouage Couture,” they said.
“I prefer L’Oreal for [its] variety of shades and packaging.”
“L’Oreal Brilliant Signature is a very close copy of [the] YSL water stain. It’s just a little thicker,” they added.
Another makeup fan chimed in to explain why the two L’Oreal products have a similar formulation to YSL’s lippies.
“YSL and L’Oreal are under the same company, so it’s cool to know that these two lines are actually close to their counterparts!” they said.
A budget-friendly beauty fan backed drugstore Cloverbeam’s recommendations.
“Can confirm [the] The Essence blush is very pigmented,” they said.
“[It has] more pigment than my Mac Baked blush, although Mac is good if I’m trying to add a more subtle tone.
Someone agreed that the idiots at L’Oreal are close to the real deal, but they had a problem with the drugstore version.
“Yes, for the Brilliant Signature/Water Stain thing, but I’m upset because something in L’Oreal makes my lips dry a lot more than the water stain,” they said.
