They took to Reddit’s beauty forum in response to a user asking people to share their “life-changing” tips.

Writing under the handle Unfair_Finger5531they shared a lesson they learned while working at Guerlain.

“Apply the smallest dot of foundation with your fingertips only to the spots you want to cover,” they said.

“Then use your fingers to spread the foundation from these dots until it is spread all over.

“You only need a fingertip of foundation at most to achieve a flawless natural look.”

Foundations can be liquid, cream or powder and are often used to even out the complexion while covering perceived flaws.

Guerlain’s Terracotta Le Teint Healthy Glow Foundation has almost 22,000 likes Sephora.

It’s described as a “liquid to powder foundation” that offers medium coverage for up to 24 hours.

I’ve tried a lot of designer foundations, but my purchase from Dollar General beats them all – it’s skin-like, with lots of coverage

It’s sold in a wide selection of colors for $63, and the brand recommends applying in circular motions from the center of the face outward.

The Redditor revealed that they also have a simple trick for getting great hair.

“I’ve never used a hairdryer!” they said.

“My simple tip is mousse. Mousse is underrated as hell.

“It can make your hair straight, bouncy, smooth, curly, whatever.”

They recommended using Finesse mousse or Milkshake leave-in conditioning mousse, as both leave hair feeling “smooth and silky.”

“While my hair is still wet, I put a bunch of mousse in it and then brush my hair down, and when it dries my hair is like ‘VOLUME AND BODY HERE,’” they said.

The advice comes after Beauty Bay skin expert Grace Day revealed the best foundation for mature skin.

She told The US Sun that even coverage can be achieved by using your fingers or a sponge to apply a liquid like MAC Cosmetics Studio Radiance Serum Powered Foundation.

She added that brushes can also be used to create a “seamless” foundation, but it’s important to be mindful when blending strokes.

“Avoid powder foundations as the product can settle into fine lines – emphasizing any natural wrinkles and making the foundation look cakey,” said Day.
