A flight attendant struggled to keep her skin flawless.

She said she doesn’t let flying more than 16 hours a day stop her from following a comprehensive skin care routine.

Editor Cabin crew shared her tips in a comment on the social media platform.

She said finding a regimen that worked for her took a lot of “trial and error.”

The flight attendant leaves no stone unturned when it comes to skin care at 35,000 feet.

She also revealed her routine for when she returns to dry land.

SKIN CARE IN THE SKY

The flight attendant emphasized the importance of staying hydrated during the flight.

She said she keeps a large personalized water bottle with her on flights.

“Make it interesting,” she said. “Add chia seeds, spirulina, mint leaves, lemon—whatever you want to drink.”

She revealed her makeup tip for a long sky move.

“Before you put on makeup, apply a good moisturizer, let it sink in, and five to 10 minutes later, put on sunscreen,” she said.

“You can still get a lot of sun through the windows, even if it’s not direct.”

She also ditches foundation for longer shifts and uses BB cream instead, as she finds the former turns into fine lines.

She also recommended moisturizing heavily while napping, as well as using a hydrating facial mist frequently during flights.

HOME SWEET HOME

The flight attendant is sure to make her skin-care routine count when she’s on the ground, too.

I’m 51 and my hands look like my grandmother’s – my weekly routine rejuvenates them, the final step is free

In the morning, she washes her face with just water.

Next, she applies a hyaluronic acid followed by a face cream after five to 10 minutes and tops it off with sunscreen on top.

After her morning skincare routine, she adds makeup on top of everything.

“Somehow my face isn’t even very bright after all this,” she said.

At night, she washes her face and uses micellar water to remove excess makeup.

To hydrate, she uses a ceramide cream or a heavier balm depending on how hydrated her skin is.

Despite all this, she sometimes worries about sun damage.

“I always worry because I use tretinoin, which makes my skin more vulnerable, and I spend a lot of time in the cabin,” she said.

“My galley leads directly into a cabin with no doors and I’m the only flight attendant, so I feel like I get more sun than usual.”

Anti-aging tips and ‘superstar’ products

Dr. Anatália Moore is a general practitioner and skin specialist with over 11 years of clinical experience.

She told The US Sun that her goal is to equip patients with the knowledge they need to take control of their skin’s journey.

She said the basics of a beauty routine are the same for all ages – it should include an effective cleanser, moisturizer and SPF.

“Moisturizers are my go-to, even when it comes to products that contain active ingredients,” she said.

“Finding a well-balanced moisturizer that provides the right type of hydration, replaces natural oils, and seals them literally stabilizes the skin.

“This alone can quickly soften the appearance of fine lines and texture, as these are often worsened by dehydration.

“It also allows the skin to function as it should.

“It can then heal more quickly, which, among many things, can lead to fewer lines and wrinkles, fewer flare-ups of dermatitis and rosacea, and milder, shorter-lasting breakouts.”
