hair challenge

Many people ignore blowouts and don’t know what to do with their mane in the warmer months.

“With hot weather comes the dreaded hair humidity that many of us experience during the summer,” she said.

“Humidity causes frizz and flatness, as excess moisture in the air interferes with hair bonding, causing water molecules to penetrate the strands and bond with hair proteins.

‘This can cause hair to lose its shape and become straight or frizzy. This can be a nightmare during the summer, however, a useful trick to protect your hair from humidity is to use hair oil.

Hair oils come in a variety of types with different goals in mind, from a thorough wash day to growing longer locks and even taming frizz.

“Hair oil works as a barrier, preventing moisture from interfering with the hair.

“Your hair will be less susceptible to the effects of humidity when using hair oil, leaving it soft and manageable.

“Similarly, hair butter works great for this, as its moisturizing properties reduce frizz caused by humidity.”

I’m obsessed with cheap hair care to grow my hair, but trolls insist I have extensions – except I never use heat and apply homemade potions

Walker gave her advice on her favorite hair oil to beat the heat.

“Olaplex No 7 Shine Boosting and Repair Bonding Oil is suitable for all hair types and fights frizz and flyaways,” she said.

“Strengthening and protecting the hair structure, it greatly increases shine and improves manageability, leaving hair with a revitalized texture and a healthy appearance on humid days.”

O Olaplex No 7 Bonding Oil to increase shine and repair it is sold at Sephora for $30.

MAKEUP AND SKIN CARE

Walker would certainly give head-to-toe advice for dazzling crowds this summer.

“The warmer months are the best times to exfoliate. During the summer, sweat and sunscreen can build up on our skin, allowing dirt to remain,” she said.

“To combat this and have smooth, healthy skin, take time to exfoliate your body to get rid of dirt, sweat, or sunscreen buildup.

“This method removes dead skin cells and dirt to prevent clogged pores, leaving skin fresh and radiant.

“I recommend exfoliating at least twice a week during the summer, however, if you have sensitive skin that is easily irritated, exfoliating once a week may work better.”

For makeup that stays in place, the beauty pro recommended using an eyeshadow primer for crease-free eyelids, as well as products like setting spray for the face.

She also recommended applying powder before foundation for extra hold.

“By applying powder before foundation, you soften the skin and absorb excess oil, providing the perfect canvas for foundation to give a matte finish,” she said.
