Despite being known for her iconic eyebrows, Shields decided to venture into the world of hair after realizing the effect that aging can have on a woman’s locks.

In 2021, the 59-year-old launched an online community for women over 40, The New York Times reports.

It was through this work that she realized the lack of hair products aimed at older women.

When his followers asked, “Well, what can we buy?” Shields decided to take matters into her own hands.

Teaming up with big names in the fashion and beauty industries, she decided to create a line of products aimed at age-related hair problems, such as brittle or thinning hair.

Shield Company To start defines its customer base as “women of substance”.

She explained to Women’s clothing daily that she doesn’t expect anyone to buy her products just because “I’m Brooke Shields and I have hair.”

“I can sell anything once,” Shields told the publication.

“But I want repeat business, and to do that we have to establish ourselves as experts in hair care and beauty.”

These hair care professionals got to work launching the brand’s first three products, all of which are now available for purchase online.

I can tell someone is a vegetarian by their hair – it tends to be dry and dull, an essential ingredient for shine

Start 2 in 1 Instant Shampoo$21, “absorbs excess sebum and oil.”

The dry shampoo was also developed to hydrate the hair when necessary, helping to add volume and support.

Also available is the 3 in 1 leave-in conditioner$26, designed to “nourish, soothe, and soothe.”

According to the brand, the conditioner “boosts shine, tames frizz, softens strands and protects against heat damage to keep hair healthy and support healthy follicle growth.”

THICKENING SERUM

But maybe it’s the brand’s $30 Root Serum which talks more about age-related hair problems.

The thickening product is designed to “soothe stressed scalps while increasing hair density and thickness from root to tip.”

It is said to “initiate and maintain cuticle protection for healthier hair growth.”

The serum also treats the scalp, transforming brittle and thinning hair into “softer, smoother and stronger strands”.

Shields spoke to Vogue about Commence’s marketing strategy, which avoids buzzwords like perimenopause or anti-aging.

She cited the negative connotations with these phrases as the brand’s reasoning for avoiding them entirely.

“It’s so refreshing for women to see the stigma around aging removed.”
