The 79-year-old has a simple trick that she never fails to make part of her nighttime routine, reports Byrdie.

Mirren told the publication that she used to make a common faux pas when wearing makeup.

“When I was young, I used to go to bed with mascara and everything, and in the morning [it] it would all be in front of my face,” she explained.[myface”sheexplained[myface”sheexplained

However, the English actress revealed that she has since learned her lesson.

“I never forget to take my makeup off at night,” said Mirren.

“I take off all my makeup religiously at night and then put it all back on religiously in the morning.”

Skin care experts in Dermalogica broke down the importance of removing makeup before bed.

They cited clogged pores and breakouts as one of the top reasons to avoid the beauty mistake.

“Dirt or makeup left in the pores will make them more visible and they will instantly appear larger,” they explained.

Professionals added that your complexion will look duller and more aged.

“Not taking off your makeup will age you because makeup mixed with dirt and pollution that accumulates on the skin can harm its ability to successfully renew itself at night,” they said.

According to experts, your skin may also start to feel dry if you don’t remove your makeup properly.

“Makeup residue can prevent the absorption of skincare products, creating a barrier between your skin and any products you put on it,” they explained.

This negligence can cause skin irritation and even increase the risk of eye infections.

“When left on the skin for long periods of time, these irritants can cause inflammation, irritation and redness,” the professionals said.

They highlighted that most people tend to use makeup to disguise these inflammations, continuing the cycle.

AGING PROCESS

Mirren also shared her views on aging as a woman in the showbiz industry.

“My philosophy about aging is that it’s going to happen,” she explained.

“If you’re very lucky, you’ll grow old and everything will be absolutely fine.

“And you’ll find that it’s part of your life, the way being young is part of your life. Being old is part of your life.”
