A BEAUTY enthusiast has revealed the DIY treatment that naturally stimulated the growth of her eyelashes.

She said using two budget-friendly products every night thickened her lashes.

She took to Reddit’s Indian Skincare Addicts forum in response to a user asking people to share their opinions on castor oil for eyebrow growth.

Posting under the handle Overthinking_is_easyshe praised an alternative to the popular vegetable oil.

“It’s not castor oil, but I tried this when I was a broke college student and wanted thicker lashes,” she said.

“Squeeze a vitamin E capsule and add an equal amount of olive oil.

“Store this in a suitable container. Apply a little at bedtime.

“My eyelashes have gotten thicker, so I hope your eyebrows will too.”

Vitamin E capsules cost $5.12 and oil it costs $6.12 at Walmart.

Delighted buyers rated both ingredients highly.

The Redditor shared a tip for applying the home remedy without irritating your eyes.

“I applied a little, just enough to cover my hair,” she said.

“I didn’t feel any irritation. Better yet, use a clean mascara bottle.

“The brush doesn’t hold much oil then.”

Many people upvoted the beauty hack and began debating whether the treatment would also work on eyebrows.

According to Dr.Vitamin E can be applied topically to eyelashes or taken as an oral supplement.

The antioxidant has been proven to reduce oxidative stress that contributes to hair loss.

Speaking to The US Sun, she recommended a “naturally anti-inflammatory diet” rich in antioxidants for eyebrow growth.

  • Bananas and mushrooms for biotin
  • Cucumber or horsetail and nettle herbs for silica
  • Dark berries, raw cocoa and green tea for polyphenols

He claims that research in mice shows that the compound oleuropein in olive oil can also improve eyelash growth.

Peterson recommends using a cotton swab to apply a small amount of olive oil to your lashes and letting it sit for up to 10 minutes before growing out.

The hack comes after Hoda Kiani, founder of LoveLash, shared affordable eyelash growth solutions with The US Sun.

She said that castor oil, coconut oil and olive oil have properties that nourish hair follicles and promote circulation.

Natural remedies may take some time to show visible results.
