Going on holiday often means it’s a carry-on only trip – which means space for liquids will be limited.
So I tested three travel skin care kits to see which one is best.
Budget
Byoma Glow Starter Kit, £14.99, cultbeauty.co.uk: No matter your age or skin type, you can’t go wrong with Byoma.
The brand’s Brightening Serum is one of my favorite skincare products, so naturally I think this set is great.
In addition to the serum, it contains a cleanser and a rich moisturizer that is great for sun-dried skin.
But you’ll need extra products as the cleanser isn’t good at removing stubborn makeup and the travel sizes are smaller so they won’t last much longer than a week.
A great budget option, but you get what you pay for.
Mid range
Farmacy Beauty Farm Fresh Bestseller Kit, £38, spacenk.com: I have incredibly dry lips and can’t leave the house without applying lip balm, so I really appreciated the addition of one to this kit.
Plus, it includes the only cleansing balm I’ve tried that doesn’t break out the skin, and everyone I’ve recommended it to has responded with rave reviews.
Plus, there’s a great moisturizer and vitamin C-rich eye cream that’s great for brightening the under-eye area and reducing dark circles.
The sizes are perfect for a week or two away, and since they’re all jars, they’re easy to refill and reuse with products from my stash for future trips.
I would definitely buy again.
Lux
Elemis X Shrimps Travel Icons Skincare Set, £89, uk.elemis.com: Much more than a travel kit, it’s a complete skin care routine that will last much longer than a vacation.
There are six products, including a cleansing balm big enough to last a month, plus a foaming cleanser, chemical exfoliant, moisturizer, eye cream and, most excitingly, a shower gel.
The quilted toiletry bag, made in collaboration with British designer Shrimps, is a collector’s item and I’ll be reusing it in my makeup when I get home.
But there is no doubt that this is the most expensive option of the three.
Pick of the week
THERE are two cheap skincare items I use to reduce blemishes – Inkey List succinic acid, £11, and hydrocolloid patches.
Now the Inkey List Hydrocolloid Invisible Pimple Patches, at £9, combine the two.
They’re clinically proven to reduce blemishes in just four hours and are super thin so they stay under makeup.
Shop now at theinkeylist.com and in Boots stores nationwide.
