Armand Beasley (@armandbeasley) has been gaining more and more followers on Instagram, where he shares photos of his artistic talent.

Her clients include Nicole Scherzinger, Downton Abbey’s Joanna Frogget and HRH Sultanah Kalsom of Malaysia.

Speaking to The US Sun, he shared little-known tips on how to improve the appearance of aging skin.

FACE FAIL

Beasley advised being cautious when following social media beauty trends, as they may look different in person.

He shared a popular one to avoid.

“Excessive use of highlighters with glitter particles on cheeks, nose, etc.,” he said.

“The striped contour effect looks so unflattering and although you can get away with it in a photo or on social media with the help of various filters, in real life it is just as unflattering.

“Less is more in my opinion, and I always avoid using filters in my work as I want people to see the natural beauty of my clients, not some weird AI version of them.”

Beasley described himself as “pro-aging” and said people should learn to make the best of themselves.

He shared two factors to consider before applying any makeup product.

“Never use baby wipes and always take care of your skin,” he said.

“Drink two liters of water a day. I use a hydrogenated water filter because it helps more on a cellular level.

“Remember, Beauty is ageless.”

MAKEUP MASTERY

Beasley said mature skin requires makeup products that are better suited to its needs.

“As we age, our skin tends to become drier, so products rich in hyaluronic acid help improve the way your skin feels,” he said.

“Light-reflecting concealers help make eyes brighter.

“Cream blush is really effective and brightens dull skin – which tends to happen as we age.

“So a touch of peach or pink on the ‘apples’ of your cheeks, blending into a silica-based highlighter that you place on top of your cheekbones, will make you look fresh.”

He also recommended revamping the way eye makeup is applied as you age.

“Swap the black eyeliner pencil for a dark brown eyeshadow or a dark gray eyeshadow, as it won’t look as strong around the eyes,” he said.

“Also only apply a pressed powder or mattifying powder to the T-zone – keep cheekbones and cheeks satiny or shiny.”

POWERFUL PRODUCTS

Beasley revealed a selection of effective products she keeps in her makeup bag.

“Urban Decay’s All Nighter spray has been great, especially for menopausal clients, as it really helps keep makeup in place,” he said.

“My multi-award winning Pro Body Glow from Armand Beasley and Buzzbalm Beauty took a year to formulate and was inspired by my client Goldie Hawn.”

He said the multi-purpose nourishing balm can treat dryness on body parts such as heels, shins, lips and décolleté.

“It’s the perfect accessory if you’re going out at night and showing some skin and want it to look hydrated,” said Beasley.

“Oxygenetix’s oxygenating concealer is long-wearing and really brightens the eyes without looking cakey.

“I also use this on my makeup clients because it’s very discreet.”
