The poster revealed that her “dark circles are almost gone.”

Although the Redditor didn’t set out to achieve this, they suspected a new addition to their anti-aging routine could be a thank you.

“I’m not sure if this is the reason or not, but it’s the only thing I’ve changed in my routine recently, the vitamin C serum,” they wrote.

The Reddit user detailed the remaining steps of his routine to the public.

“I moisturize after cleansing with an aloe-based foaming gel,” they explained.

“I moisturize with hyaluronic acid and then with an oil-free cream from Aldi.”

The original poster said he noticed results within “a few weeks.”

Dermatologist DiAnne Davis, MD, spoke with On style about the science behind using vitamin C for dark circles.

“Vitamin C decreases melanin production by inhibiting tyrosinase, which is an enzyme that results in the production of melanin and pigment in the skin,” she said.

In addition to being effective in brightening the skin and reducing pigmentation, it can also help protect the skin from air pollutants.
