She shared the hack on Reddit’s beauty forum in response to a user curious about tips from around the world.

DELICIOUS LIPS

The Indian beauty fan was eager to share a trick taught by her grandmother.

“Putting a little oil on your belly button at night gives you soft lips the next morning,” she wrote using the pen. Grouchy-Strange-748.

“I don’t know the science or witchcraft behind it, but it has always worked for me.

“I use mustard oil (more common in my area) or clarified butter (called ‘ghee’).”

Another Redditor asked about the possibility of swapping recommendations for olive oil.

“I’ve never used it personally,” she replied.

“But I assume it should work because liquid fat is the common element between olive oil, clarified butter and olive oil.”

Mustard oil costs $10.99 and ghee it costs $8.28 at Walmart.

Both ingredients are traditionally used for cooking.

GETTING MOUTH

Many Redditors confessed that they had never heard of oils being used as a remedy for chapped lips.

“I have ghee… I’m going to try this tonight… haha… I’m going to feel like I’m basting myself for the oven but I’ve never heard that,” said one person.

“What am I going to try this,” wrote another.

“I’ve been seeing a lot of things recently about how to do this with castor oil,” a third added.

“It’s supposed to have a lot of benefits.”

What is the Pechoti method?

The Pechoti method is the practice of applying oil to the navel to improve health and cure certain diseases.

It originates from Ayurveda – an ancient medical practice in India – and is based on the belief that essential oils can be absorbed from the navel via the “Pechoti gland”.

However, there is no scientific evidence to support the existence of the Pechoti gland or the effectiveness of the method, according to Health Line.

Those who adopt the ancient practice place diluted essential oil in the navel and let it absorb through the skin.

Although there is no proof that the method works, there is no danger in trying to lubricate the belly button.

Belly button lubrication, also known as the Pechoti method, is based on ancient Ayurvedic medicine.

There is no scientific evidence to support the health benefits of the practice, but it is safe to try.

Claims that mustard oil can improve skin health and reduce the appearance of fine lines are merely anecdotal, according to Health line.

In the United States, Canada and Europe, its use as vegetable oil is prohibited because it contains erucic acid.

However, it can be applied topically to moisturize hair and skin.

There are limited studies on the benefits of ghee, but many people swear by its use to repair and smooth their skin.
