We’ve all heard of “too much privilege” — but according to one single guy, being attractive isn’t as easy as it might seem.

Mexico-based Chantal, who considers herself “beautiful,” recently took to Instagram to bravely open up about the “dark side” of being as beautiful as she is.

The dark-haired beauty, who works in the acting industry, revealed that being “pretty” like her has affected her love life and finding a future Romeo.

While she has no problem finding men who “want” her, it is more challenging to settle down with someone who wants something more serious.

”The dark side of the ‘beautiful privilege’ of being coveted, never loved,” she shared her feelings on the video.

”People just want the opportunity to experience you.

“That’s crazy, it’s never been like this for me, so I see what it is,” the young woman wrote, adding heart and medical plaster emojis in the caption.

But despite sharing her raw emotions with Instagram users, the online reaction was far from sympathetic as people flocked to the comments to troll her.

Don’t you have to be pretty to post this content?

Many, for example, felt that Chantal was not that attractive in their eyes, with one meanie wondering, “Is the beautiful privilege in the room with us?”

Another agreed, adding that the woman had nothing to worry about.

”Relax, you don’t have that privilege.”

“Don’t you have to be pretty to post this content?”, a bully intervened.

Luckily for Chantal, there were also some kind comments left by fans in awe of her beauty.

”Idc [ I don’t care] What did they say. You are beautiful Ignore the hateful comments, they are too jealous [as f**k].”

”Absolutely stunning ” wrote someone else.

The biggest beauty mistakes

Fabulous beauty editor Tara Ledden shared the do’s and don’ts when it comes to beauty.

“No matter how much time and money you spend on your beauty routine, if you don’t get the basics right, the rest will be wasted.

“There aren’t many non-negotiables, but these are the biggest beauty mistakes that sabotage your regimen.”

  • Do not use SPF: Sun damage is the main cause of premature skin aging, so if you want to keep your skin looking plump and glowing, sun cream is vital.
  • Using Expired Products: At best, they are ineffective and don’t deliver the results they promise; at worst, they cause irritation and infection. The shelf life of beauty products is different – for example, mascara usually lasts 3 to 6 months, while lipstick can last 9 to 18 months. Check the ‘POA’ symbol on the packaging (it looks like a bottle and will have a number within how many months it is safe once opened. If you don’t remember when you opened the product, throw it away and start over, marking the month and the year with permanent marker on the packaging.
  • Not knowing your tones: If you are using makeup in the wrong tones, it will never look natural no matter how much you blend! An easy trick to find out if you have cool, warm or neutral undertones is to check the veins on your wrist – if they look blue you have cool undertones, if they look green you have warm undertones and if they are a mix you have neutral.
  • Bypassing the thermal protector: It may seem unnecessary, but just like sun damage to your skin, excess heat is the most common cause of hair damage. So if you want shiny, healthy hair, or are trying to grow it longer, using a heat protection product is key.
  • Not washing your face before going to bed: It’s that simple: if you don’t wash your face before going to sleep, everything that remains on your skin during the day stays there for longer, clogging the pores and drying out the surface. Any skin care applied on top won’t be effective with a layer of dirt underneath, and you’ll probably end up with dirty pillows too – yuck!

What is a privilege?

According to numerous studies, people who are considered attractive benefit from a beauty bonus and tend to earn, on average, higher salaries, The conversation reported.

Beautiful individuals are also expected to have a higher IQ and be considered better leaders, which positively influences career trajectories and opportunities.

It is thought that individuals considered beautiful by others are also more likely to be considered trustworthy, which makes it easier for them to be promoted.

The idea is that prettier individuals are considered healthier and/or have had more positive social interactions, which may influence their trustworthiness.
