They explained that the alternative skin care solution helps restore the natural color of the complexion.

“To get rid of redness quickly, a washcloth soaked in apple cider vinegar works best,” they said.

“You wet a towel with apple cider vinegar and pat it on the burned areas.”

The Redditor highlighted that the effective trick doesn’t come without sacrifice.

“Afterwards it smells really bad, so I recommend sleeping in it [to increase] effectiveness,” they said.

The social media user also revealed an additional step to help combat burn pain.

“However, this only takes away the redness and not necessarily any pain associated with it, so throughout the day simply apply aloe vera to the pain,” the poster recommended.

They assured their fellow Reddit users that the simple trick brings quick results.

“I promise if you sleep with apple cider vinegar, your sunburn will disappear in the morning,” they said.

The experts in Family Urgent Care detailed the role of apple cider vinegar in treating sunburn.

“Its popularity stems from the belief that its anti-inflammatory properties alleviate the discomfort caused by sunburn,” they explained.

However, no scientific or medical research supports the ingredient as sunburn relief.

Medical professionals advise against applying undiluted apple cider vinegar directly to the skin.
