She shared her anti-aging advice on Reddit’s 45 Plus Skincare forum after a user asked how they could improve the condition of her “wrinkly neck.”

PERFECT FACE

The beauty fan said she has been using a microneedling pen for three years along with tretinoin.

“Honestly my skin looks younger now than it did when I was 30,” she wrote using the pen SalgadoSour.

“Microneedling is almost the only treatment that has actually changed the structure of my skin.

“It made him softer and plumper.

“You can do this professionally with better results, but for more money. Works for all age groups.

“Tretinoin is also very effective, but tolerance can vary from individual to individual.”

The 47-year-old was thrilled to have noticed an improvement in her skin after just one microneedling session.

She revealed that her skin also became firmer after introducing facial yoga and an expensive serum into her routine.

“I use the Estée Lauder serum and I have to say this is the most hydrating serum I’ve ever had, sometimes it’s the only product I use at night,” she said.

“I take hyaluronic acid and collagen tablets. Collagen helps a lot, I have no idea about hyaluronic acid.”

I tried microneedling my lips to make them bigger – it cost less than fillers but left me feeling numb and my normal skin routine hurt

She said her topical skincare products wouldn’t be as effective if she didn’t also do microneedling.

“I’m even planning on trying to fix my maternity bump with microneedling,” she said.

“You are never too old to feel beautiful!

“All creams alone (except tretinoin) cannot solve this problem.

“They can hydrate and protect, make it look a little better because of it, but it doesn’t ‘reverse’ it—microneedling does.”

What is microneedling?

According to Health Linemicroneedling is a “minimally invasive” treatment that uses small needles to stimulate collagen in the skin.

The treatment can reduce the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles, dark spots and improve skin elasticity.

Professional microneedling sessions last about 2 hours and cost up to $800 each.

After treatment, collagen production may continue for 3 to 6 months.

Doing microneedling at home increases the risk of infection.

BEAUTY SHOPPING

She revealed that she uses the Dr. Pen A7 at home because she can’t afford professional microneedling.

The device costs US$179.95 at Dr.’s websitewhere it has a perfect 5-star rating.

“If you want to try it, start with a roll and read A LOT about the protocol,” she said.

“You can’t go too deep into some areas and you need to be very careful about the products you use afterwards (nothing during).”

Many people upvoted the Redditor’s post and among the commenters was one person describing microneedling as “amazing.”

Another beauty enthusiast thanked the woman for convincing them they should swap their derma roller for microneedling.
