The social media user also suggested swapping the women’s razor for the men’s.

“[I’m] I don’t know why women’s razors are taxed to hell when they are more fragile, I’m a fan of the men’s Gillette, very sharp,” she said.

Next, the Redditor revealed the beauty item she uses instead of shaving cream.

“I use conditioner instead of shaving cream, [it] It doesn’t have to be fancy,” she said.

“It’s much thicker and covers leg hair evenly, making it easier for the razor to grab.”

She added that she also doesn’t like scented shaving creams because they irritate her skin.

I haven’t shaved my legs for a year – it makes me a better mother

After she finished shaving her legs, the poster detailed her final step.

“I finish everything in cold water, I don’t know if that necessarily stops hair growth, but my legs always feel super smooth and soft,” she said.

“Hot water removes your body’s natural oils, cold water locks in those oils.”

The Redditor explained that his tried-and-true technique delivers long-lasting results.

“This usually gives me at least 24 hours of smooth legs and requires a lot of trial and error,” she wrote.

Steps to a smooth shave

  • Use an exfoliating glove on your legs before shaving
  • Swap a women’s razor for a man’s razor
  • Opt for conditioner instead of shaving cream
  • Rinse your legs with cold water, never hot water

Reddit users shared their thoughts on the advice in the comments section.

“I use an exfoliant mixed with a glove and use a men’s razor,” one person wrote.

“I’ve tried conditioner, but I couldn’t notice a difference.

“I haven’t tried the cold water trick yet, I tend to take extremely hot showers so maybe that plays a role.”

“I use a pink razor and it rusts the first time I use it. I’ve been using a men’s razor for three months and it doesn’t rust,” said another reader.
