A makeup artist has shared her tips on how to give yourself an instant facelift.
He said the key to a lifted face with makeup and without surgery is the correct placement of concealer.
Wayne Goss (@waynegoss), makeup artist and YouTuber, shared makeup tips and tricks with The US Sun.
“The clue is in the name ‘reverse contouring’ – it’s the opposite of contouring,” he said.
“It works as a simpler process to enhance facial features and give the face a slimmer appearance.”
Goss explained that concealer placed in the right places on the face can lift.
“This process works by applying concealer to specific places on the face and then blending it, rather than applying contour shadows to the skin,” he said.
“Some of the top places to apply concealer include under the eyes, where it will lift and brighten the under-eye area, and on the cheekbones, which will lift the entire face.”
Besides placement, the most important part of the technique is ensuring the right shade.
“Just make sure you use the right color concealer to match your skin tone,” said Goss.

“Nothing too dark and nothing too light. Makeup is not meant to be seen and should be subtle.”
Another trick that can add dimension to your face is the proper use of highlighter.
“Using your ring or a highlighter brush, like one from my new line, the ‘White Gold Collection,’ to apply highlighter just above the brow arch is a shortcut to highlighting facial features,” said Goss.
“This highlighter technique aims to visually elevate the eyebrows and facial features, giving the impression that your features are higher than they really are.
“Highlighter in the right places really adds an extra glow to your face and always looks beautiful when done correctly.”
Goss also warned makeup fans against making a mistake that could get old.

He explained that he saw many people follow a common rule of thumb that actually worked against them.
“People make the big mistake of smiling when they put on blush,” he said.
“This is a common mistake that people make very often. Ultimately, this lifts the cheeks, and what goes up must come down at some point.
“This means the blush will be lower than necessary, making you look older.”
For best results and a youthful appearance, Goss explained that the tried-and-true method is to keep your makeup simple and consistent.
“Any overdone makeup will imply that you are trying to hide a lot underneath,” he said.
“Find a look that suits you and stick to it. Not only will you look younger in person, but your photos will look much more stylish too!”
