A MAKEUP fan shared a trick that helps lipstick last longer on her lips.
The makeup tip also helps to improve the texture of the product.
Editor Ellikilla shared the beauty trick in a post.
“I’ve always been a big fan of the way bullet lipsticks look, but they always come off really quickly,” she said.
She explained that a technique she discovered on social media changed the way she applied her product.
“I recently saw a TikTok for a ‘I Just Kissed’ lip look where the creator dabbed her fingertip on a bullet-shaped lipstick and then swiped it all over her lips for a smudged look,” she said.
“I tried it, and one thing I noticed that she didn’t mention was that it lasted a lot longer!
“I used a cheap lipstick from L’Oreal that came off in an hour and it worked. [last] This time 3-4 hours – even with an order of fries and an iced coffee.
“The finish is also incredible; It looks much more natural and delicate than when I put it on the traditional way.”
After trying the technique with a variety of lipsticks, from drugstore to high-end, she confirmed that the results were the same across the board.

“Since then, I’ve tried Mac, Nars, and UD lipsticks several times, and they’ve all ended up lasting much longer,” she added.
She revealed the exact method she used to make her lipsticks last as long as possible.
“I use my index finger and start in the middle and then work my way to the edges,” she explained.
“I go a little beyond the lip line to contour the labia majora and then use my pinky finger to clean up the edges.
“Sometimes I use a lip liner of a similar color to clean up the edges even more.”
Being careful with application and paying attention to detail, she added, helped the lipstick last even longer.
The ending is also incredible; It looks much more natural and delicate than when I put it on the traditional way.

“Putting a lot of pressure (actually spreading the lipstick) makes a difference to longevity,” she said.
Other makeup fans shared their own tips and tricks for longer-lasting lipstick.
“I like using the double blot method to make my lipsticks last longer,” said one commenter.
“I simply apply from the bullet, place a folded tissue between my lips and press it against the tissue, reapply from the bullet and wipe with the tissue again.
“I feel like it makes a big difference.
“Sometimes, depending on the look I’m going for, I reapply after the last stain to add more shine and hydration.”
