A SALON beauty treatment has transformed a woman in her forties with thin eyebrows.

She said her eyebrow hairs stopped growing after numerous attempts to deal with her “pronounced unibrow” in her youth.

She shared her must-have hack for creating the illusion of fuller brows on Reddit’s 45 Plus Skincare forum.

BEAUTIFUL EYEBROWS

She remembers being “forbidden” from having beauty treatments to control her unibrow when she was younger.

“As soon as I left the house, I was at a salon paying and basically begging for wax to thin my Bert from Sesame Street, sans eyebrows,” she said, writing under the handle Budget Discussion 568.

“I did this for years, until it became apparent that I had a very pink band below my eyebrows that didn’t match the rest of my very tan skin tone.

“I started pinching. And tweezers. And Twiggy Tweezers.

“They got really thin, so I let them grow back and started threading them.

“One day I realized that they just don’t grow now like they used to.”

The Redditor, who is also perimenopausal, said blood tests revealed she had an underactive thyroid.

Despite taking a prescription, applying topical oils, and using serums, my eyebrow hair still refused to grow.

However, she was amazed at the “huge difference” microblading made for them.

“It accentuates the hair I have left and makes it really easy to remove ‘overgrowth’ with dermaplaning,” she said.

“I don’t shave, thread or tweeze. It’s more time and pain than I’m interested in dealing with.

“I choose the ‘lazy’ route, but I actually see longer-lasting results.

“Maybe due to slower growth now than before, but dermaplaning the area around my eyebrows is what was done before I microbladed them.

“It worked, I tried it and never looked back.”

The Redditor said that many women naturally lose the “tails” of their eyebrows, even if they have no underlying health issues.

She said hormones and stress can also affect hair growth.

“It must have been very overwhelming, so I got microblading,” she said.

Hair Growth Diet

Star Khechara is the creator of The Facelift Diet and founder of Skin Nutrition Institute.

Speaking to The US Sun, she recommended a “naturally anti-inflammatory diet” rich in antioxidants for eyebrow growth.

  • Orange and yellow foods for beta-carotene
  • Pumpkin Seeds for Zinc and Amino Acids
  • Bananas and mushrooms for biotin
  • Cucumber or horsetail and nettle herbs for silica
  • Dark berries, raw cocoa and green tea for polyphenols

She paid about $450 for the initial microblading session and returned after six weeks for a touch-up.

The delighted woman said her eyebrows haven’t “faded” in the year and a half since she had the treatment.

Many people were grateful for the advice and upvoted the post.

TRUTH OF TATTOO

According to Medical News TodayThe semi-permanent cosmetic tattoo procedure can last up to three years.

It involves an esthetician using a tool with needles to create the illusion of real hair using colored pigments.

Microblading can take up to 2 hours to complete and over 4 weeks to fully heal.

Beauticians will advise how often a touch-up is necessary after the procedure, the results of which can last more than 2 years.
