CREAM blushes have been a staple of my makeup routine for years.

Now the next The generation of liquid blushers promises easier blending and shine. This week, three new releases will be put to the test.

Budget

REVLON Illuminance Gel Serum Blush, £9.99 for 11ml, boots.with.

Highly pigmented, but the formula contains hydrating ingredients that mean you have more time to work with the product before it dries.

Great if you feel intimidated by liquid blush and worried about getting the placement right.

This also means the pigments don’t clump in dry areas and become patchy, and the finish has the perfect amount of shine without being shiny or oily.

Don’t be fooled by the small packaging. It’s small but mighty and actually contains the most product.

With style and substance, it’s by far my favorite.

CARVED by Aimee Liquid Lights Blush, £18 for 7.5ml, carved by aimee.co.uk.

Part blush, part highlight, the finish is considered dewy, but I would definitely go as far to say it’s shimmery.

I wore it on a recent overnight holiday and it looked great.

But I think the shine would be too much for my everyday oily skin.

Beauty fans rushing to buy Primark’s £1.50 blush, which has received rave reviews and claims it’s the ‘best blush ever’

I really loved the doe-foot applicator as it is much easier to control where and how much you are applying.

So I’ll definitely keep using it, but especially at night when I want some extra shine.

I imagine it will really stand out come winter, and a little goes a long way, so I’ll definitely have product left over by then.

HUDA Beauty Blush Filter, £24 for 4.5ml, cultbeauty.co.uk

With a semi-matte finish and lots of shiny particles, this is definitely the most glamorous of the three, despite the transparent color.

The more matte finish felt practically weightless on my skin, which I loved.

It took more product than I expected to get a decent flush, but once you get there it’s very easy to overdo it.

It’s also very difficult to get a natural blush before it dries, so I’d say this is best for those who are familiar with liquid blushes rather than people trying them for the first time, or you might be put off.
