THERE’S nothing more boring than doing a chic bun, except that unruly hair ruins the elegant look.
But LadBaby Mum, aka Roxanne Hoyle, has revealed there is a £2.50 Primark product she uses to keep her hair clean and tidy.
In a video about her Instagram Stories, Rox showed how she uses the purse-sized product to tame the fine bits that have escaped the bun.
“I found a little hair hack in a bag for all of us girls who have those ‘flowy hair pieces’ that hang from our buns,” Rox wrote at the top of the clip.
She then showed off the product she was referring to – Tame from Primark.
Rox also demonstrated how she used the mascara-like product to fix flyaways, before smiling broadly as she showed off the finished look.
“It kept my hair tidy for a few hours,” she added.
The product is just one of Primark’s Tame range, which also includes a wax stick that you can use anywhere.
“The formula is infused with moisturizing jojoba oil to help hydrate hair, while the gentle hold provided aims to tame flyaways and baby hairs,” Primark says of the wax stick on its website.
“It arrives in a practical design that allows you to take this product outside with ease, so fixing runaway locks is a total breeze no matter where you are.”
If you’re out and about and don’t have a wax stick on hand, lip balm can also be used.
Use your fingers to apply a little to the sections you want to comb back, to prevent the other hair from getting greasy.
A clear mascara does the trick too, while dryer sheets can be a brilliant trick if you’re at home.
To prepare your hair for a slicked back bun, you should use anti-frizz shampoo and conditioner.
The 4 phases of the hair growth cycle

Hair experts at Philip Kingsley have shared the four stages of the hair growth cycle: Anagen, Catagen, Telogen and Exogen.
Anagen Phase: Also known as the ‘Growth Phase’ or ‘Active Phase’, this is when the hair root cells divide more quickly, forming more new hair.
During the anagen phase, hair grows about half an inch per month [about six inches a year]and faster in summer than in winter.
This phase of the hair growth cycle lasts an average of three to five years.
Catagen Phase: After the Anagen Phase, your hair cycle enters a short transition phase known as the Catagen Phase, which signals the end of active hair growth and cuts off individual strands from the blood supply and cells that produce new hair.
Approximately three percent of all hair is in this stage at any given time and it lasts for about 10 days.
Telogen Phase: The third stage of the natural hair growth cycle is the Telogen Phase, a resting period in which strands remain in the follicles but are not actively growing.
An estimated 10 to 15 percent of your hair is in the telogen phase at any given time.
The Telogen Phase lasts about three months or 100 days.
Exogenous Phase: The final phase of the Hair Growth Cycle, when individual hairs are released from the follicles and fall out.
Now the whole process starts again.
And a hair mask every now and then can also be helpful.
“Hair masks can help treat flyaways by providing deep hydration and nourishment to hair strands, reducing static and smoothing the cuticle,” says celebrity hairstylist Valerie Vanessa. Vogue.co.uk.
