A MAKEUP fan shared a rule she follows when she goes shopping.
The trick helps her save money and purchase products for less than full price.
Editor Irissteensma shared the shopping tip in a post.
She advised those on a budget to avoid buying drugstore products if they aren’t on sale.
“Never buy anything at a drugstore chain that isn’t on sale,” she wrote.
“Sales tend to circulate every three weeks.

“If it’s not for sale now, it will be soon.”
The opposite goes for sales, where she recommends buying multiples.
“True BOGO (buy one, get one free) sales are few and far between these days, so if a store has one that encompasses your brand of powder or another product you frequently restock, STOCK UP,” she said.
“Sometimes prices in supermarkets are cheaper than in drugstores – check.”

Special sales, she added, happen twice a year and can save shoppers more money.
“Cosmetic resets usually happen twice a year — right before and after, there will be a lot of makeup on sale. This could be amazing,” she said.
Reboots, she revealed, typically occur in early spring and fall.
She warned those struggling with over-buying during sales.
“Don’t be fooled into buying something just because it’s on sale, last chance, final sale, etc. (This also applies to places like TJ Maxx),” she said.

Often a “deal” can cause people to rush into a purchase they wouldn’t originally make.
“If you were on the fence about something but the price put you off, that’s okay; however, if it’s something you had no intention of purchasing and it’s nothing you actually need, think long and hard before purchasing,” she said.
“These ‘bargains’ can result in a pile of ‘what the hell was I thinking’.”
Other shoppers added tips and tricks for drugstore makeup on a budget.
“The end of the year is a frequent time for things to be scaled back at Walgreens,” said one commenter.
“They will start tagging the sale on Halloween and mark them down cheaper before Christmas.
“I noticed that Target gets more frequent discontinuations and mini reboots. Walgreens gets one major cosmetic reset per year, starting in January.”
